Re: NACair OPERATIONS HAVE CEASED AT THIS TIME.
Some people have nothing better to do than yell at others on avcanada. That's why I stopped coming to this site. Grow up.

Photo Contest just for fun
Don't mind me plugging my own little group, but for fun I started a weekly aviation photo contest and invite you all to join in the party. Free to enter and the prize is a slight boost to your photographic ego. New themes every week.

And to get this post back in the right direction...... YACDirect, I have a friend who owns a couple planes here in YQT, so I'll see if I can come up with something for you. He has a Seneca II which is probably more than you need or want to pay for, and a 206 on floats that is out of the water by no...

Airplanes for rent in YQT
Anyone know if there are any airplanes for rent in QT anymore - 172 or similar? Been a few years since I've been there, and would like to take some family & friends for a ride. -OR- is there anyone there with a private aircraft in which you might be interested in working out some arrangement with me?

Yeah you should never subject avionics to that sort of abuse. I have in the past been asked to do a load test with Pitot Heat, Lights etc, also have done it by switching the battery off *not* the alternator. Either way, I still think it is a bit silly. How would you do a load check with the battery...

Drive or fly into Kelowna, don't think you have many more options in the Edmonton area. I believe Airhart does a good, quick float rating (I think that is the company name??) I wasn't aware there was such a thing as a good, quick float rating. I say beware of anywhere that tells you they will train...

Cat do you honestly think that a 200 hour commercial pilot just vibrating to build the next 300 hours so they can get that right seat job somewhere on the yellow brick road to the airlines will make a good instructor? A 200 hour pilot who wants to be an instructor will make a FAR better instructor s...

After takeoff with a c/s prop, people are always in a big hurry to reduce RPM's. Not sure why. The way I treat it is to use maximum power approved for the takeoff, but as soon as safely airborne reduce to maximum continuous power and go from there. Spend as little time as possible above "max contin...

Diabetes, the FAA and a US-only Medical Certificate?
I posted this a few days ago but it was lost in the server malfunction / upgrade thing... anyhow I was asked this by an American fisherman and didn't know what the answer was so I hereby turn it over to the expertise of avcanadians: My American fisherman has: - An FAA-issued PPL and instrument ratin...

Re: Tailwind takeoffs and landings.
The other day I watched a Beech 200 take off with a 20-25 kt tail wind. Why I ask… as he/she had a choice off taking off into wind. There are no obstacles, and the taxi distance was the same to both runway ends, in fact he/she went against the traffic flow. I have asked myself the same question ove...
