Re: Air Sprint Questions
I was incredibly sad to hear this news about Air Sprint as it had a reputation of being a place to hang your hat in the corporate world. What percentage of pilots has been there over 3 years? I know they have a few long time pilots but it seemed like a small minority. BINGO! That’s the metric that ...

Re: Central Mountain Air, Perimeter, Sunwest and others posting job ads paying $15,000-$25,000 less than competition
As far as Sunwest, whatever they post as a pay range you will definitely start at the bottom of that range and never see the top of that scale. Finding a raise is light finding hens teeth and you’ll get a lot of “you should be thankful for what you’ve got” from the current management. Plus bonds.

Re: Buffalo airways
As someone who actually worked there, my recommendation is only take that job if you're obsessed with getting some time in on those old birds before their extinct. There is no other reason. Yes, flying big radial tail draggers will teach you immensely and make you a better pilot but there are other ...

Re: Air Sprint Questions
Any update if there will be any hiring at the YUL base ? (FO) Hi Av8andsleep, We expect hiring will resume in May or June and there should be First Officer positions available in YUL at that time. Feel free to reach out directly to me if you would like further updates as we get closer to those date...

Re: Corporate Schedules
Good corporate gigs in Canada are like hens teeth. I know places like Air Sprint have set schedules so you’ll know days off ahead of time, but they work guys like rented mules for a third of the wage they pay in the US. While I agree we fly more than a true corporate outfit(everyone does), I think ...

Re: Challenger 300 salary.
150k bottom of the barrel, 160-175k would probably be a realistic number to aim for. That being said, if you have experience and type rating, ask for more. Experienced pilots with type ratings and corporate experience aren't exactly growing on trees, know your value.

Not technically an airline, but adding for reference and more transparent info the better.

Re: Direct entry captain Air Sprint.
When hired at Air Sprint as a direct entry Captain what is the starting year on salaries? For example 6000 total time 5700 multi pic 2300 multi pic jet. Thx Every DEC starts at year one on the 16/12 sched, so CJ $135k or EMB $145k. Once your training is complete you can bid to change to the 14/14 o...

Re: Direct entry captain Air Sprint.
AirSprint has a great hiring committee and their typical (successful) candidate is very resourceful. I wonder if their careers page has any information that may provide you with an answer. I take it you haven’t dealt with PL on the hiring committee. They didn’t get their position because of their p...

Re: Fly a JET! Make less than a King Air captain!
I’m well past the honeymoon phase with the company and have been here a lot longer than 6 months. I still enjoy it. Everyone’s point of reference is different. Obviously you and Digits and I aren’t on the same page, or even reading similar books. I hope all you guys get your dream job, whatever that...

Re: Fly a JET! Make less than a King Air captain!
Let's try to look at this as objectively as possible then. “work 17+ days a month (sometimes forced)“ Everyone starts on the 16/12 schedule. You aren’t working 17+ a month unless you want to bump up to the 18/10 sched that pays more money, $151,875 for year 1 CJ captain or $90k for year one FO. I f...

My goodness, show me on the doll where the scary Airsprint hurt you?! I wasn’t going to respond to this because arguing on a forum is like wrestling with a pig in their favourite environment, but in case anyone may be interested in a future with Airsprint I can’t help but make a few comments. “Belo...

Re: Fly a JET! Make less than a King Air captain!
They also have a 25 year payscale, increasing less than 1-2% per year. But people still apply, cause realistically it's marginally better than the regionals. It’s exactly like a regional. Below average pay, work 17+ days a month (sometimes forced), bonded on each type, a pay-scale that doesn’t matc...

Re: 2023 Professional Pilot Magazine Salary Survey
We are also a long way behind in mass shootings and personal bankruptcies due to medical debt... It’s ok though because our dollar is worth 30% less, our housing is generally more expensive everywhere in the country, we are taxed at a higher rate in every bracket and we pay into a carbon tax scheme...

Whatever the industry standard pay is, just subract 30-40% and that's the payscale. Not joking.

Re: Air Sprint Salary
Let’s break that down. While a descent pay scale no doubt for the first few years if you sign up to be at the companies beck and call 24 hr/7 days a week, why would you. At year 5 on the new Porter scale you are even with the Legacy. Beyond that you fall far behind with Sprint. Yr 7 at Porter is th...

Re: Mid Size Captain/FO salary
If by midsize you mean Citation XL/Hawker 800 size, then about 120-150 captain and 75-110 for f/o. If you are talking Super-Mid CL300/G200 130-150 captain and 80-120 for f/o. These are the current going rates but if you are dealing with the owner directly, you can certainly add 25-40% more on eithe...
