Re: Delta bought some of WJ because the pilots are so cheap?

I've seen this stated before, but I'm not sure why it's the case. Why does socialized bidding save the company a lot of money? Why would seniority bidding require hiring more pilots? Think of building schedules as putting together a jigsaw type puzzle. Pieces can only fit so much. A true seniority ...

Re: Time to end this circus: Claude has to go

ACA MEC (particularly YUL reps) think Claude is trash, other ALPA carriers wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole (look at Canada Board election) and a strong contingent of Jazz pilots are realizing maybe high end kitchens, Lincolns and paid Hawaiian vacation aren't in their best interests. He is do...

If any Jazz Flow Through Pilot thinks the existing Seniority List is going to get changed - you are completely delusional. The CIRB has the ability to do just that. Lol...Straight up is Claude feeding you this shit because he is desperate he might get recalled This must be it. No one could be this ...

This is just sad.

Almost as sad as signing a 17 yrs deal and then expecting serious gains after the fact.

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair

Thank you for a job almost well done. Names. Many people want the names of those who were behind this distasteful resolution. Some are obvious from the chats. Are meeting minutes available? Names? Why? You going to meet them in the parking lot? Vandalize their cars? Track down all the yes voters to...

Re: contract search tool

If you're on the DB pension like me, the pay raises won't do anything for anyone who retires as a skipper on any widebody because the limit will still be the MPUs. For the CWIPP folks, the bonus money could have been handy if you found yourself on a Leave of Absence and needed to buy back service fo...

Re: What will Air Canada pilots do with their $0 bonus?

How much did every pilot lose with this concession then? An avg payout in 2024 was around $15k. Multiply that by 5000 pilots and it makes it a $75 million concession. New wages was around $250 million. So take $75m divided by $250m and you get roughly 30%. 30% of new wages came from money members g...

$76 million a day is about what the Air Canada pilot strike was predicted to cost.

But...they are different. They were getting forced back to work.

Air Canada pilots...coming up with complete bullshit for shit results for literally decades.

The Snake Oil is strong here...wow amazing some of the stuff you read I just can't get over Air Canada pilots thinking a target benefit pension plan is superior to a Definited Benefit pension plan. What kind of snake oil is being sold over there?? It's in the numbers. Unless you're a career under ac...

Re: 67% yes

As a year 2 WB FO I'm actually pleased with the result. Year 3-4 are a 100% pay increase vs the old CA, and brings much better per diems, better reserve rules, better insurances, a 20k back pay for year 1, etc. All that while working 10 days a month. You cannot expect to gain absolutely everything ...

FWIW, the communities Encore services absolutely need Encore, so they weren't in danger of parking anything. Where would they get pilots to replace them? Exactly, no where. First off. Thank you Gary for being the tie break to let the pilot group vote. I hoped you would be the MEC chair that would have the foresight to see that this type of decision belongs to the group and not the MEC. It could not have been an easy decision, good on you. Secondly, I'm a yes vote . I ...

Re: Is this the first AIP to not be in the benefit of the company?

Again, unhelpful hyperbole. ACPA isn’t a fist waving old man and the fact remains that ACPA pilots are the best compensated pilots in Canada despite having no domestic peers even close to matching AC pilots on pay and pension. Maybe it isn’t ACPA holding everyone back as much as it is the other car...

Essentially our difference of thinking here is that you re sure that they will come back with a couteroffer. I don't think they will. I m not saying that out of fear. it is just what I think. You are a bit too full of certainty. I am way more cautious on the simple fact that if there is a couteroff...
