Re: Medical privacy disclosure
Lots of fear mongering and conspiracy out there, but as I dug into this here is what I glean from it. Here’s the plain-language overview. What changed (in practical terms) Transport Canada now requires more explicit consent from pilots regarding: • What medical information is collected • How it may...

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair
It gets to the point where you can't help but think there's something else going on. Are ALPA such giant pussies that they really fear the company that much? (Which, from what we witnessed the past couple days, what is there to fear from these incompetent clowns?) Or has the legacy of corruption fr...

Re: Canadian North Sold to EIC
They use their ownership stake to influence frequency and service levels well beyond what some communities can economically support. How else does one justify twice daily Dash-8 service for 25 passengers a week. PC-12 and 1900 have a really high CASM, so upgauge to Dash-8s to reduce seat cost. But ...

Re: Canadian North Sold to EIC
I'm thinking in a few years once the dust settles on this take over by EIC, watch for Calm Air's operation to be folded into Canadian North's. Nah. Won’t happen. Calm air is too Manitoba for EIC to fold it in. EIC owns PAL and perimeter/bearskin, and keewatin. I wager EIC buys wasaya group next The...

Re: Upgrade Your Flight Safety with SkyVoice RADAR & LiDAR Altimeters
Very cool. What aircraft do you have STC's for? Our SkyVoice Alert 500 for all general aviation aircraft and SkyVoice Glassy Guide 400 for Seaplanes, is approved under the FAA's NORSEE (Non-Required Safety Enhancing Equipment) program. So an STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) is not required. Nors...

Re: NavCanada's stupid satelite ADSB mandate
This is what happens when you have very weak representation/ lobby groups in Canada. We get nothing in return. wx, pireps, notams for free in the US system are very helpful and increase safety exponentially. Yeah and we get shafted for more fees and cost, also while getting less. Seems to be the no...

Re: NavCanada's stupid satelite ADSB mandate
Satellite makes sense in Canada because why should there be 2 separate standards? Northern Canada and even NW Ontario has lots of areas that GA aircraft and GA altitudes won’t be in range of ground stations. Maybe because canada is the only country that mandate diversity ads-b? In southern Ontario ...

Re: NavCanada's stupid satelite ADSB mandate
From what i read, the mandate isn't until 2028 for C, D, and E airspace and aparently the liklihood of them meeting the deadline is low, so you will have a couple extra years at least. Its also TC, not NC that has the mandate. You can also probably be allowed through the airspace with a single bell...

NavCanada's stupid satelite ADSB mandate
This whole idea of using satelite to receive ads-b signal is just dumb af. I know there is advantage to it in the far north where ground radar is unavalible, but that's about it, that's the only advantage about it, and maybe it will save NavCanada some money because now they don't need to install gr...

That 12 year 77 CA isn't going anywhere. They aren't quitting if they get 100k raise, 50k, or 0. They still won't leave. The new guys on the other hand, they don't have anything to lose. And anyone thinking of applying from another carrier does, and this alone will make that decision easy. So yes, ...

As I responded to you on the other thread, this is no different than the airline world. At the end of the set number of SIM runs, you're sent to go to your PPC. If you fail, maybe you're given a few extra SIM sessions and then you get one more chance. If you don't make the cut after the re-try, you...

Navcan is a giant third party gov't fat, bloated, inefficient entity. For the LAST TIME, NAVCANADA has NOTHING to do with the government. In 1996, the government sold Transport's ATC services to NAVCANADA. You sound like an uninformed airline passenger who thinks Air Canada is still owned and operat...

Re: Nav Can Whisky Tango Fox over
NavCan want ads-b just like all the other country. But they aren't willing to pay for the price of installing ground stations like the state, so they decide to sign the fking contract with a satellite company to receive space based signal. They don't want to pay themself so they offload the cost to ...

ULCCs today are using A320s and 737s. As a comparison, WJ (LCC) used a very different version of the 737. Back in the 90s, the 737 was a ~130 seater. Today, the 737 has ~180 seats. That's a much larger airplane to fill. Should the likes of Flair and Jetlines be using Embraer jets or CS100s? Much ea...

Yes, flying big radial tail draggers will teach you immensely and make you a better pilot but there are other...
