Re: 67% yes
I keep waiting for someone to mention this but no-one has. I guess I'll be the one. Flair pays more than Air Canada does because they have to. What kind of moron would go to Flair if AC paid the same or more? If AC paid $100K/year flair would have to pay $120K. Obviously AC management has figured o...

Re: Any Update On The New Contract?
Where are people getting that OT is being increased to 92 hours? Section 21.5 remains unchanged and says OT is 88 hours. The examples in the LOU use 88 hours as OT too.

Re: Any Update On The New Contract?
Id like to point out that the captains were pretty quiet when they voted in the last contract giving themselves significant raises while taking concessions. Meanwhile FOs got a 3% raise and had to take the same concessions. Have things changed because it directly effects captains now? Or did they re...

Re: Self-flying plane in one-year deal with feds
I think it will be quite a stretch. Garmin autoland is based on GPS. Do we really want a fleet of aircraft flying around that will crash when GPS goes off line? It's not trivial to find a backup for that. Possible, but likely quite expensive.... This should cover your concerns https://aviationweek....

Very clearly racism/discrimination as well as white privilege. The woman occupying the seat that shouldn't have been there should have been removed, plain and simple. If for no other reason than the seat assignment has to be paid for and she's travelling with a small child. Of course, when a black ...

Re: New Flair Tentative Agreement
I suspect the “NO” vote champions, work for a competitor, because it’s impossible there is in-house ignorance of the blatant risks associated with voting a decent first TA down. I suspect you're out of touch then. Lots of talk of no votes within, and talk of looking elesewhere if it passes. Decent ...

Re: TA…HERE IT IS AND IT SUCKS.... KINDA?
I don't know about all the FOs here but I know that 71k is not what you end up earning with the extras. (GDO buy outs, OverTime, Work into GDOs, 3% Matching with no probation time) My first year pay ended up at approximately 100k and that wasn't even trying to pick up GDO's, only accepting them whe...

Re: New Flair Staff Travel
No- asked HR. Those confirmed passes can also be given to 'buddies' up to the yearly limit. Excellent perk. But you're talking about the #2 passes right (positive space travel passes)? I was asking about #3 on the list ("buddy passes"). If buddy passes were confirmed passes there would be no differ...

3- 4 one-way space available buddy passes every quarter, 16 per year. They are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and can be given to anyone the employee chooses. In the attachment it says "buddy passes : a pass for confirmed travel" but its standby right? Like a normal buddy pass? Nice cat...

They've only had what, 4 years to come up with a plan? Any operator waiting til the last moment to adjust to the new regs deserves what they get imo.

Min time at Jazz before applying to AC?
Do you need to put in a minimum amount of time at Jazz before you can apply to AC with the flow through? Or could you in theory apply on day 1 of Jazz if you meet the 2000hr ATPL requirements?

Re: Chief Pilot asked another airline to delay hiring me due to shortage?
I kind of think a lot of people are sewering themselves in interviews too, but if you can blame someone else it saves the trouble of having to improve AND you get a fun victim story to tell. Heard first hand account of a pilot at "company A" get hired at "company B". Pilot tells CP of company A he ...

Re: Chief Pilot asked another airline to delay hiring me due to shortage?
I've heard rumors of this happening at my company in the past. Apart from that my CP told me new company "reassured" him they would space out the hiring from my company. He didn't say he asked or requested anything, so I can only assume.

Chief Pilot asked another airline to delay hiring me due to shortage?
I've heard of this happenening to various people at various airlines in the past. Chief pilot talks to HR at prospective new company and asks them to delay or even not hire a pilot because they are short and can't afford to lose them, and the other airlne agrees to CPs request. I'm concerned this is...
