Re: E2 new hires

Anyone have any insider knowledge on base transfers timeline? I heard only 6 F/O spots opened for YOW in June which makes me wonder how long a base transfer would take as a newcomer onto the E2. Actually it's 4. As per the FOAG language, 2 spots are guaranteed by the 33% fleet transfer from the das...

Re: wasaya wages

I would assume that it's based on type and years of service on said type. Here's an old contract, that depicts it: (look at Section 3.2) https://negotech.labour.gc.ca/eng/agreements/14/1414802a.pdf Here's the most current one that I've found: https://negotech.service.canada.ca/eng/agreements/14/1414...

Re: Stop the unfair UP Express price hike for Employees

As a commuter, I try to minimize my time taking any form of public transit; however it's a necessary evil. My impressions are that it should be a user-paid system. Look at the 407 for example. When I drive from Ottawa/Montreal to Waterloo/London (about 6 times a year), I will gladly hop on/off the 4...

Re: Fastest way to YOW

Porter normally will hire you at 1000TT, as long as you pass the interview Porter normally doesn’t do as you say, with 6000 plus hours of king air captain time they haven’t offered me a position to date. I'm not part of the hiring committee, nor training, but *maybe* it's because they do screen for...

Re: Fastest way to YOW

YOW Dash 8 operations has seen some major turnover due to folks leaving for the jet. Of the current FO's, 5 of the 22 on property have more than a year with Porter. 17 are fairly new! Soft cap of 25-30 FO's in YOW based on trying to have equal numbers for scheduling purposes. Porter normally will hi...

Re: Open up new bases already !

Management has been very tightly keeping their cards to their chests about this one, multiple questions were directed at them during OCT/NOV townhall style meeting. Prior to that townhall, the general consensus was that YOW would have been opened prior to this holiday season. Due to training backlog...

Most recent that I can think of, not sure if they wrote the airframe off, however at 5.5g, it must have been a costly repair

I lost my Restricted Operator Certificate - Aeronautical (ROC-A) and would like a new copy. How do I go about getting a copy mailed to me? Is there a fee? You may submit a request to have your certificate reprinted to the Radio Operator Certificate Service Centre (ROCSC) via email, telephone or the ...

Re: Base seniority

YHZ is even more "senior" by comparison, than YOW. YHZ has currently 26 CA and 19 FO. I believe that there is room for 30 in each. Most senior Captain hired 2006, most Junior in 2017. Most senior First Officer in 2015, most junior summer of 2022; half the list hired after 2019. E2 outstations have n...

Re: Base seniority

Good Afternoon, As the previous poster commented, during the interview, they will ask your what your preferred base would be, and second option. If successful, the offer of employment will specify which base you've been selected for. Historically, YOW has been a senior base. After the pandemic, it's...

Re: Announced routes

Porter threads have been quiet, but it's not because it's such a fantastic place to work at, to me it seems there haven't been many pilots on here that have been very vocal, but I'm sure that's about to change, and it should, porter pilots should complain and they should step up like everyone else ...

Re: E2 schedule

Looking at the pairing selections for Feb, it appears that it's a mix that Porter normally has; splits, 2-3-4 day pairings. The splits (redeyes/standups, whatever your choice word is) are YYZ to YVR. The 2, 3, and 4 day pairings are a mix of no more than 4 legs domestic flying. (think along the line...

Re: Companies that DO NOT still require the Covid Jab for Employment

Porter requires all employees (sorry, all «team members») to be fully vaccinated, but they don't precise what it means (boosters??). As far as I know, Porter followed the Federal Government's rules at the time. You needed the primary set (2 shots + 2 weeks) in order to travel. Those who opted not t...

I can confirm that the most current revision of Porter Flight Operations Administrative Guide "FOAG" (in other words T&C) is the following: Entry Level FO: 1000 Total Time, with ATPL or IATRA Additionally: " Any pilot candidate hired through the Destination Porter Program, or any pilot candidate wit...

Re: Home at Night

I heard Porter has single days, but are they senior? Porter has 1, 2, 3, and 4 day pairings. All based on the commercial schedule that comes out, based on forecasted customer demand. In you're hoping to get single days based in YOW, all I have to say is good luck! Right now the majority of the sing...
