Re: Nice

Why wouldn't more teams use Air Canada over Delta?

Aren't Air Canada pilots way cheaper with their inferior contract?

Seems like that would be huge cost savings for professional sport teams

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair

So not only was there no fight, the union didn’t even pattern bargain for entry-level pay that matches an ultra low cost carrier. This is another dead horse that continues to be beaten. If you want the big bucks that Flair pays in their first year, go work there!! They have to pay that much because...

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair

Instead of 2% of our salary, which adds up to hundreds of thousands of dollars over our careers, I'd like to hire two lawyers. Every time the contract is up they bring us the company's offer and we vote to accept or to strike. It would cost us each $100 a year and produce the same results, if not b...

What's with pilots ripping into poor flight attendants?

Low IQ? Small penises? Too many rejections??

Embarrassing

Re: Jaz Executive Spending

When the ULP finally has its day in proceedings, those dues will be worth it, besides the other benefits over the years! Like a new kitchen & trips to Hawaii. Sign me up! You really are an imbecile! What...you don't like paid Lincoln SUVs or trips to Hawaii?!?! Like I said...sign me up. I have neve...

Jazz pilots pay that much in union dues so they can be stuck in a 20 years contract with 14 years of the same union head...lol ALPA dues for everyone is based on the same calculation When the ULP finally has its day in proceedings, those dues will be worth it, besides the other benefits over the ye...

Yup. Rudder said it best, On a different note : Type up your salary times 0.018 and see what you guys are paying. Maybe ALPA will even let you autograph the $3500 windshield wiper you just bought for CB If youre going to run around here throwing this useless comment everywhere at least get the math...

How much do Jazz pilots pay for their union?

Brand new kitchens & Lincolns...lol!

This is just brutal from an outsider's view. I just hope you guys aren't spending thousands each to send this guy on vacation in Hawaii

Jazz pilots:

You were on a 10 yrs contract then decided for 10 more...with a well documented and quantified pilot shortage

Re: Encore hiring Foreign Workers??

The E3 Visa is a different beast. The E-3 visa was created as a result of the Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA). The Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) helps Canadian employers fill labor shortages when qualified Canadians are not available. So in other words...instead of p...

Re: Emirates or Air Canada

Even as a new first officer I’d strongly analyze the risks and benefits of such an endeavor. Keep in mind that you’re the first to go (and go I mean be fired) if the shit hits the fan. The locals will never leave. The sooner you can avoid the high taxation in Canada the better off you’ll be. This c...

To anyone on here who is bitching about the job Charlene did, it’s time to put your money where your mouth is and step up. Seems everyone here could have done better, so step up and walk that line in 3 years time. Find out what it means to represent the pilot group. Well done Charlene, Are AC Pilot...

Re: contract search tool

What I don't understand is how every other airline pilot group got similar large raises but didn't have to give up their profit share

Why did Air Canada pilots give the bonus up unlike literally every other group?

I don't understand...Air Canada pilots gave up their bonus but still have way worse pay & quality of life?

Why would they do that?

Maybe you need smarter negotiators in the room.

Re: What will Air Canada pilots do with their $0 bonus?

How much did every pilot lose with this concession then? An avg payout in 2024 was around $15k. Multiply that by 5000 pilots and it makes it a $75 million concession. New wages was around $250 million. So take $75m divided by $250m and you get roughly 30%. 30% of new wages came from money members g...

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair

You want a 100million, they say the can only afford a neutral agreement, we will give this but take that and you meet somewhere in the middle! They could afford it. Ok, let’s say they give the pilots 100mil, because, “they could afford it”. How does that work with the next three groups negotiating ...

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair

Why would anyone want the job when this is how you are treated by much of the pilot population. Seen it before in union ops. I never joined the MEC despite people saying I should. It's a thankless job and they probably hate the membership more than the management because of the way they are treated...

Another profitable year for the airlines! :D Great to see the profit share cheques but have to ask, what will Air Canada pilots get with the profitability of the company?
