Re: How long til $100k?
I would have to agree that being a pilot is less mentally taxing than being an engineer. I was formerly a software engineer and am now a major airline pilot and I find that flying is easier and requires less creativity and problem solving compared to engineering. Re: Unsuccessful AC Interview
This is pretty much a PFO, but worded nicely. You can stick it out at Jazz or go to WJ and get more experience on a 737 and try again?

Re: Jazz interview at 700 hours!
I thought pre-covid their rock bottom was 750TT with 250 multi time.
Even with the horrible pay, rather go Jazz than any 703 operators in the middle of nowhere, not like they are paying more for FO.

Re: Negotiations
As long as there is an endless stream of pilots willing to join Jazz so they can post on social media that they are proud to fly the flag, ain't going to help negotiations.

Re: Westjet Encore merger?
I could see a power move merging encore into mainline before the contract, causing infighting between the alpa unions and throw a complex wrench into bargaining.

They're more likely to spin off encore to pasco or cma then merge it

Re: New Flair Tentative Agreement
As much as I don't agree with the low pilot payscale you have to consider that,
Flair is a start up, they don't have too much money.
Can't compare Canada, population 38m to the USA, population 340m. Way different market.

Re: Negotiations
According to Joe Randell - CHR CEO: “One topic that is being discussed with greater frequency lately is pilots. So I thought, it would be useful to provide some context. Canadian aviation industry is expected to experience increasing demand for pilots. However, Jazz is well positioned to attract an...

The medevac side of carson is better than jazz any which way you slice it. I interviewed there a little while back and unfortunately didnt get it, but this is all the info I was able to get during the interview: -King Air F/O starting pay 55k + night premiums and per diems (this is almost another 1...

Re: Encore interview request
In their press release they did say they are going to move encore out west and get rid of 10 Q400. Don't know what they're going to do with YYZ-based pilots, either offer them YYZ/YHM swoop or mainline?
Sucks for everyone in the pool, most are probably going to expire and have to reapply.

Is this mostly a Manitoba thing? I don't think any other provinces do this for medevac, just your standard 12hr shift.
