Re: Temporary 'Foreign' Pilots??
yes nearly every LMIA request is a scam to varying degrees. Some are outright fraud and some they want a particular employee chained to them for a year plus. In aviation it's a little different than the restaurant industry where verifiable skills are required but if they have already found someone, ...

Re: Temporary 'Foreign' Pilots??
They likely have found someone who is converting their licence or is here on an expiring visa. Likely through industry or employee connections. They would not do this without someone in mind already. In general companies have to go through the motions of advertising the job and then say no one is qu...

Most high wage LMIA postings are for people they have already selected and now have to go through the motions to offer the job to other people first.

can do 10 dual instrument, 10 simulator
most people going for career in aviation will do everything simultaneously and wont be far off from the 40
if doing afterwards the instrument time still counts towards the 40

Re: PTR questions about finishing a CPL in Canada from FAA-Land
What i mean is dual time in aircraft is counted as a part of the 35 hours of flight time - within that is the 20 instrument requirement which allows for 10 simulator but 10 simulator is not flight time so that helps meet the 20 but not the 35 of actual flight time.

Re: PTR questions about finishing a CPL in Canada from FAA-Land
1. The night training time can be counted towards the 35 - it is post PPL training and part of the CPL training program. 2. Yes - actual flight time counts towards 35 hour, not simulator 3. The term commercial training is a loose term, basically is post PPL training, the school can call it what it w...

They are trying to get an LMIA for someone already here whose work permit for something else or study permit for training has expired or expiring soon. Probably they have a lot of hours, got the TC licence on a study permit, and now they have some connection to westjet to get in because i don't thin...

Is there such thing as a recreation pilot permit/license for helicopter (as with aeroplanes)? Or is PPL-H the "minimum" license that can be obtained? Does helicopter time count towards the commercial 200hrs for aeroplane? There is no such thing as a Rec Permit for Helicopters. Too rare and would no...

Re: ATPL: Multi-engine "class" rating?
There is no 'conversion' of a foreign ATPL, if you meet the requirements then you get it in order to get it you have completed CPL training requirements and have the experience and tests done to do a multi IFR test - you have to hold a multi rating, if you don't have a canadian licence, then you nee...
