Re: E2

The E2 has cheaper trip costs than a 737 Max, but then a Q400 has lower trip costs than an E2 and a Cessna 185 has even lower trip costs than a Q400. None of it matters. It’s stage length adjusted unit costs that matter and the Max 8 has far lower unit costs than the E2, as does the -800NG and full...

Interesting.

The Embraer 120 (Turbo-prop) has the same controls, built in the 80's and before the ERJ and E-jets.

Re: Embraer range ?

Not sure what happened in this particular case.

To answer your question, no its not an issue. I have done YUL-LAX / LAX-YUL with full loads on many occasions and we are always 3-4000lbs below MTOW and doing de-rated and flex takeoffs. Havent seen COG issues either.

Interesting.

Canada’s Big 3 Airlines Play To Their Strengths

Although Canada often takes a back seat to the U.S. in North America’s market, the reality is Canada was dynamic before the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the country’s major airlines are evolving to ensure they maintain their edge. Canada’s second largest airline, WestJet, made a surprise move in 2019 whe...

Re: E2 new hires

Ideal would be to scrap aircraft iPads and issue each pilot with their own. You show up with iPad already set up, logged into iLean and WSI etc. Could shave off 5 valuable minutes towards OTP. Aircraft / maintenance / CSR could have a few spare for backup incase you left yours at home.

It will be but a trickle, not even noticeable or worth taking to the union. 1. The immigration process takes minimum 12 months if you lucky - last time I checked, IRCC had 850k backlog and people are waiting 6+ months for visitors visas and 24 months for PR. Who can wait that long? Very few are will...

Re: ICAO Foreign License Conversion

HBI 320 did you went through the process? We're you successful? Still have a doubt about the direct conversion into a TC ATPL. A flight school chief pilot told me that you have to go through CPL first and no answer from TC to confirm or deny it. If you hold an ICAO ATPL, here is the process. https:...

Re: Cluster @#$!

Was the Sunwing crew shortage avoidable? To a degree I suppose. Reality is, action on salaries in Canada should have been taken long time ago. If I was a board member here, seeing what was happening in the US in the past 12-18 months, the immediate action should be to address the compensation to at ...

Re: All you underpaid airline pilots...

If the US government is putting pilot on the TN visa occupations list that is a huge win for Canadian pilots. Somehow I am skeptical though there is no way our government would allow that. Looking at the list of occupations that qualify for TN visa, medical professionals are listed. Am sure Canada ...
