Re: ALPA Petition
Great question for them at the roadshow that will come! Until then you should probably log off and chill out because all you're doing is getting people more riled up for ALPA. And bringing more attention to the false narrative that's being spread around. Pilots aren't as dumb as you seem to think th...

Re: Petition
Just my observation, not an opinion, but the new P4C has so far done nothing. That’s hardly change is it? Done nothing? I guess pushing MM out along with YUL and YVR, and winning LEC and councillor votes across the country is "nothing". Have you had any interaction with the PBS Committee as of late...

Re: Petition
Well if you actually talked to line pilots you'd realize that a lot, I'd say an overwhelming majority of those I work with want to see us go to ALPA before we spend another second sitting at the bargaining table with the company. And I fully agree. You are a minority and you can't seem to accept it....

Re: AC-JAZZ ALPA merger?
However, a list and/or operational consolidation is not out if the question based on corporate action or consent from the parties (which would likely only flow from a prepackaged solution). So, is this the hidden agenda driving the P4C MEC? Their pals at Jazz get an ALPA forced merged list avoiding...

Well that’s your opinion and opinions are like farts - you don’t have to share them. Please stick to facts. Maybe our new P4C MEC can be open and transparent by releasing the last WAWCON results. We were told by the last MEC Chair that the pilot group wanted a new contract BEFORE a discussion about...

Re: Have you had Laser eye surgery?
That's an outlier. I had similar thoughts for almost ten years and when I finally did it I wish I had done it years earlier. Again, smart surface PRK not Lasik. @#$! anyone cutting into my eyeball. Who cares if it lets you see faster, you can fly for 30 days anyways.

Re: Year 1 take home pay YUL
Around $3300 + perdiems. Perdiems between 0-$1300ish. $800-$1000 as a RP. If you're on the NB you'll get a bit more. If you're on reserve and don't fly, $0 obviously. That's bare bones. You said no OT, but a bit of block growth, one or two days on reserve into G days (which you get back and are paid...

Time for the junior 1000 at AC to wake up. ALPA will not save you from the inept P4C.

Can you pay your mortgage on 4 years of flat pay ? I paid 3 mortgages while on it. In fact, I'm still on it. A down payment is upward of two years of flat pay. How do you pay for anything else during that time? Lots of us bought property before going to AC, when we actually made reasonable (but sti...

Re: AC-JAZZ ALPA merger?
The only large airline pilot merger in Canada that was DOH was Wardair/Canadian. All the rest TZ/PW, PV/CP, CP/ND, CP/PW, AC/CP were either a ratio, length of service or DOH with a decrement. While a Jazz/AC merger is highly unlikely, I can’t imagine an arbitrator thinking DOH would be the best cou...

Re: How do you think the Jazz Union is handling Flow Issue?
The issue with your proposal is that the Air Canada pilot group would have to vote to approve it. As we saw from the previous failed MOA, Air Canada's management is still firmly wedded to the idea of so-called "zero-cost" bargaining, where any potential gain offered is also tied to some form of con...

Re: How do you think the Jazz Union is handling Flow Issue?
Is speculative at best, with no supporting evidence but I'm of the opinion flow will remain in one form or another. I can see a negotiated reduction in the percentage from the current 60% to a more long-term sustainable percentage. What I would like to see is an "intake" process that culminates in ...

Re: Have you had Laser eye surgery?
For someone who wears contacts, having a second "fake" pair of uncorrected backup glasses is not hard. I can't see a TC inspector asking you to remove your contacts to prove you're wearing them. All I'm saying is that if someone wants to get laser correction and doesn't want to jump through TC's ho...

Re: How do you think the Jazz Union is handling Flow Issue?
Won't happen without the blessing of ACPA and based on the last vote I can't see it happening anytime soon. AC isn't willing to pay into the ACPA contract what's required to get that vote to be a yes.

Seniority. ... Junior. 16 days. Very little YYC overnights. Often need to go the night before. Finish too late to get back day of pairing ending. Can easily turn into 20 days. If you have sim in the month 22. Reserve. Expect to be working or sitting in YVR 20 days plus having to go the night before...

I remember a time where I think Alberta based Jazz FAs got a raise and no one else did, because minimum wage went up. 2017/2018? Then the Jazz FA union fought it and everyone got the same raise. So I don't buy this whole they can make less because they're unionized nonsense.

Re: How are flight attendants allowed to make less than Min Wage?
I just learned that westjet encore flight attendants start at $26.94/hr. 26.94 x 75 (Monthly Guarantee) x 12 months a year = $24,246/yr Alberta’s min wage is $15/hr x 40 hour/week x 52 weeks = $31,200/year. This is almost $7000 higher than encore. How is this legal??? Even after 4 years, it only go...

Took a month before I could send in my 30 day checkup form and then about two weeks to get the medical updated. You don't actually lose your medical you self ground.
