Re: Agreement in Principle reached
Word on the street is there’s issues with the final language. Comp wants scope changes to take affect more towards the end of the contract term. Union says no. Just rumours for now. Stay tuned. Items that comes into effect at the end of a contract is something that has to be bargained for again, er...

Yes. Their new hiring minimum (not to be confused with application minimum) is 750 hours.yowflyer23 wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 8:32 pm Would Encore hire someone with 750TT if it were all survey/pipeline flying time in piston singles or is multi time weighed heavily?

Re: Post interview
With the PTA gone, the negative comments made in public about pilots from top management, and outrageous number of grievances open, I would suggest keeping Encore as your backup.
Encore might be the "breeding ground" for pilots, but it offers little future for them.

Should I stop by? Yes. With some donuts? Yes. How many? 1600. And on a more serious note, if this does get uglier and the strike/lockout lasts longer than expected or planned for, is there a donation fund? Is there any other meaningful way we can help you guys? ALPA has a strike fund. Show your sup...

How long will you be able to afford your cabins at the lake when planes are parked? You realize you're dealing with a corporation with far more resolve than you who will literally take the goodwill, write it off and go into another business. Enjoy packing bags at Home Depot. Hope your strike pay co...

Re: Don't be a scab
If someone crosses your picket line, it may be someone forced to, like an Encore pilot, or me, an Air Canada pilot. We don’t want to, but have no choice. And we’ll understand when it’s our turn and we are walking the line and you cross our line. But with respect. Do your best to avoid going into th...

Re: Don't be a scab
Please remember that when you see someone walking past the picket line in uniform, they are more likely to be a sympathetic Encore pilot than a scab. If you want to see who's operating any WS or WO flight, you can see it through ICAS Tools using the Atlas app. Encore pilots are behind you and will b...

Re: MOA
I heard Encore pilots have airport standby now. Was this negotiated with this MOA? There is no airport standby for pilots at Encore. The only thing that is happening is that the company is getting creative outside the bounds of the contract and all agreements. The things that all pilots at Encore n...

Careful, someone here will accuse you thinking like Jerryrig and call you a conspiracy theorist. Yet they won't call out the CBC for spreading missinformation when they claimed Canadians wouldn't be forcibly quarantined. Also, no one tried to burn down parliament. I know people who were there. It w...

I refuse to accept that you have seen my opinions for what they are. Please provide a peer reviewed article by a non-woke researcher that proves that I am not the perfect princess that I claim I am. You are all stupid for taking the advice of doctors. Yup, you write one thing but we all hear another.

For the record, I did not start this thread, and actually I wasnt even following it. I wouldn’t have known it existed if AVCANADA JOE hadn’t brought it to my attention. He was concerned it was defamatory, which it is. However, as I catch up reading this, I see there is some actual positive discussi...

Re: YYZ Base?
Yes, there was an announcement of closure for the base. Up until recently, it was "no earlier than the end of summer 2024." As of a few days ago, the COO stated that the timeline has been pushed back to April of 2025. Except for a few flights up to Thunder Bay in early May (with no return), the last...

Applied with ATPL and 2000+ TT. NO RESPONSE yet. Final got a email for interview. Can someone shed some light on procedure and timeline for hiring? It's probably changed a bit over the years, but you'll get an interview date and option for flights. You'll arrive and wait in the lobby of a shiny new...

JerryRig is not protesting. He is someone who has demonstrated that he lacks understanding of the basics of society and science. He is an idiot in the most literal sense of the word.

I was just in the latest Lynx Ground School course. Out of the 10 candidates, four were Flair Captains. I heard that from a friend at Lynx, I wish them the best, and hope they made the right decision for themselves and their families. I don't know any of them but I'd say Lynx lucked out and got 4 g...

It’s honestly ridiculous. Especially considering its not a requirement at any other airline (save jazz) in this country, and none I’ve dealt with so far south of the border. Logbook printed and certified by past employers not just current? Not even a requirement by Transport for your ATPL. Print of...

So, let me get this right, they ask you to provide this file? If you’ve failed a ride / test explain your reasons why and how you improved and your still competitive for getting hired? I wasn’t sure this was something that could be released to potential employers On the flip side, it's a good way t...
