Re: TUI style
This is a fairly simple concept. 2 a/c and crew go to OZ for months during their busy season and the same occurs in reverse. It actually allows both airlines to carry slightly more aircraft (and therefore crew) then they would otherwise as the business would not permit them to carry that level of se...

Re: 777 Partners
777 doesn't lease aircraft to Flair. THey have made purchases of aircraft with Boeing (at a discount) and sell the aircraft to leasing companies, some of who lease those aircraft to Flair and some who lease them to others, such as Sunwing. A very common practice. Cantravelor - since new articles are...

Not completely accurate. MOst lease contract provide a PoA under certain conditions which is then utilized to lay the claim. https://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=a36728b6-8ed1-412b-b713-96141caab8dc Hi Rudder, not sure the relevance but the lease may provide a power of attorney or similar...

Re: ground schools canceled
No layoffs and no forced base moves. With potentially 4 less aircraft then planned for this year the hiring will slow. Anyone awarded an upgrade will continue and, if we are heavy slightly, so be it. Flair has always treated its pilot fairly and that won't change now. The 'shrills' on here with the...

Re: 4 Flair aircraft seized
What about payroll "errors"? What about vacation pay from previous years? What about triple time owed? What about the vacation pay grievance this year? What about retro pay? Don't worry, it's coming in XX days. Or do those not count? Arrears with lessors, maintenance, airports, employees...I bet St...

Re: 4 Flair aircraft seized
No cash for fuel at airports. The airports themselves are irrelevant as its it the fuel provider (Shell etc) that provide fuel across the country. The into plane providers work at the behest of the oil companies and paid by them who, in turn, invoice the airlines. Second rumor - if the other lessor...

Re: So much for growth
Look at the history of posts on this topic. Boeing accelerated delivery to 777 and Flair did not need or want those aircraft in Oct 2022 as opposed to late spring 2023. It was a timing issue. So no 777 control issues as, if they had control, they would have forced Flair to take those aircraft. Inste...

Re: So much for growth
As I wrote above - the timing of deliveries from Boeing to 777 was adjusted (not unusual in a purchase contract) and that delivery timing resulted in the aircraft sitting as Flair does not require the first aircraft until April 1. That is an expensive asset to have sitting and so some are being sold...

Re: So much for growth
Not false but doesn't have the full story. 777 Partners purchased over 100 aircraft and their delivery timing from Boeing was adjusted and doesn't reflect our need for the aircraft. Our requirements are 8 additional aircraft for the summer season with 2 arriving in March, 2 in April, 2 in May and 2 ...
