Re: So how actually is at the other side of the fence?

Nice thing about Percentage of Captain pay is it removes dollars and currencies.

It literally shows how bad AC & ALPA bone junior pilots.

Re: So how actually is at the other side of the fence?

AC is basically a ponzi scheme where the bottom part of the pyramid pays for the top. Doesn't have to be this way but with world worst reserve rules, horrific percent of captain pay which leads to embarrassing junior FO / RP pay rates and a reliance on growth to cover up these faults, it's a tough p...

Re: Did Air Canada pilots really take concessions in this negotiating climate?

I forgot to mention the 16 year wait for a 737 captain at Westjet vs. 2-3 years at AC. And probably a 25+ years for a 787 vs 18 years at AC for a 787 captain. We all know growth plans & promotions can change at a moments notice while contracts do not. You will recall Air Canada kicked 600 pilots to...

Edited to add a 'u'. Shitposting is what I see from the group of 4 or 5 users who joined this forum in fall who jump into every AC thread to continue with their temper tantrums over not getting 200% raises, 100% credit deadheads, 1:2 THG and whatever else they felt entitled to. I think at some point reality needs to set in that Air Canada pilots will never get the opportunity they just had. To have that level of unity, a government that vocally supports labour(even the Conservatives), a profitable company and staggering comparables to pilots that do the same job (that gets...

Where are all the guys who were insulting WestJet and Encore pilots for not striking? Where is everyone who was adamant that all Canadian pilots should be applying at AC because flat pay was going away and wages were doubling? Can we get a compilation of all those hot takes? What is common here...4...

Which airline do you work for? Other than being a troll on an aviation message board, what is the “Lion’s share” of work you’re doing? Perhaps leading by example is a more effective way to make your point. Delta. I left the country LOL so you ain't doin shit. Riding on the coat tails of the hard fo...

This video isn't for WJ pilots. This video is for the traveling public for when a strike date nears and executive suite will try to negotiate in public. "Look at these greedy pilots, we offered them WJ +5 percent and they said no!!" If ACs ALPA gets anywhere near American legacy pay, WJs MEC can ea...

I love how the pilot shortage is temporary according to some here lol

And that regional flying in Canada is some weird Canadian phenomenon where WJ can't pay its pilots more

How did pilots become so gullible??

Re: What is the acceptable industry discount on Canadian pilots?

There needs to be some sort of matrix involved. The conditions in the USA did not always exist. Indeed there was a time when US pilots were paid as bad or worse.. and they still are outside of 121 where the 1500 hour rule doesn’t apply. The first part would be to ask how many pilots in Canada made ...

We need to get even more retired AC pilots to join TC to help improve safety. It is also my plan when I retire. We need AC pilots to make enough money so they can retire. Period "Retiring" then going back to work = giant fail and quite frankly, sad Hopefully you got some hobbies, kids, things to do...

Hangry, Grab a Snickers The company was completely dragging their heels to get to impasse before the summer to compress the timeline. The wages don't matter without scope. It doesn't matter if you make 400/hr when someone else is doing your flying WJ pilots eating at food banks with their wages? Yeah I’ll take things that didn’t happen for 3 dollars. And if they did, I’m calling incredibly poor financial sense in their part. Also...

Tigger/Pelmet +1 I have been in the exact position you describe and elected not to take much of a crew rest break out of the cockpit because of it. D.P.
