Re: 67% yes
The hilarious thing about this meme is the complete lack of awareness of what proper legacy airlines have in quality of life, bonus plans, retirement contributions, scheduling rules, 100% Deadhead, training pay, sim pay, commuting but most importantly respect. Just hilariously ignorant. But yes as ...

Re: 67% yes
Let me help you BradleyScott The pension calculator assumes: - 85 hrs a month (many DBMs this month are 70) - 2% pay raises until retirement (if you think you're going the next 25 years without a crisis...not to mention the reduced pilot in the cockpit threat that will lead to serious concessions o...

Re: SHOW UNITY. VOTE NO!
I voted yes. Im looking at a 42% pay increase for the duration of the contract. Around 50K of ratification pay and over 400K a year on pension. I'll be around 350k with nav/oseas pay in 2027. Meanwhile junior pilots are left out in the dust and can barely afford living. But thanks for sharing and l...

Re: DELTA CONTRACT 2024 = AC contract at a minimum!
A lot of management’s crows are hovering on avcanada. Their purpose is to keep scaring pilots and keep the bs narrative that we will be the top paid in Canada but we cant compare to US. I was to reiterate something important. We are not scared of you. We will strike if needed. NO MORE CHEAP LABOUR!...

Re: Air Canada is Not WestJet
I watched the video a few times. Where does it say that AC pilots are better than WS pilots? Only thing the video does is compare the airlines. It compares them based on size and the places that it operates into. This comparison is done in order to make the argument that we should be paid more. An a...

Re: DELTA CONTRACT 2024 = AC contract at a minimum!
If you are expecting to eliminate 20 plus years of ACPA in a single contract you are dreaming. Don't let perfection be the enemy of good. I'm sure our new MEC will send us a decent TA. We will be the highest paid pilots in Canada, we will have the same or better working conditions as everyone else i...

Re: Is the ACPA Motto: "We will get'em next time" gone?
Serious question. So the BOD told management that the priority was to “ protect the summer.” Makes sense. So my question is, would it be possible for us to go on strike in June when we have the most financial leverage? My read of this mediation is the earliest we could strike is Aug. Is this the ca...

Re: Did AC stop flying to Havana?
Hey, As the topic title sais: Did AC stop flying from YYZ and YUL to Havana? I was looking on the employee travel site to book a flight there, but it's not available. Is this a seasonal thing? Cheers I asked recently and was told it was the lack of Jet A in Havana. The government is prioritizing th...

Re: Aircraft Preference
if Schedule, pay, and quality of life were all the same probably the Boeings. 767 and 777 have lots of power. The max has no fly by wire so a pleasure to hand fly. The 787 is probably the most comfortable out of the 4

Re: Is AC considered a Legacy Airline anymore?
The only person whos comparing AC to third world countries is the original poster. He claimed AC had the lowest paid WB pilots in the world. He didnt even specify the lowest new hire pay he just said WB pilots. Here is the quote AC Widebody pilots are the lowest paid on the globe I merely corrected h...

Re: Is AC considered a Legacy Airline anymore?
Given the pay in comparison to North American legacy carriers, is AC even considered a legacy airline anymore? The pilots look and dress like Delta, American and United but the new hire pay is less than Canadian regionals or Ultra Low Cost Carriers AC Widebody pilots are the lowest paid on the glob...

Re: Meanwhile in 'Merica
I have never been able to understand why pilots in Canada assign the pay and benefits entirely to ALPA and their ability to negotiate. Do you guys not remember when all these ALPA carriers were paying 20-30K a year? Pay and working conditions in the US at ALPA carriers prior to the Colgan crash was...

Re: Latest MEC Bulletin
Collaboration is good as long as the ACPA reps don’t forget which pilot group they work for now. ACPA MEC need to acknowledge that deferred employment (with a seniority number) needs to be part of Jazz flow (as it was in PML 1.0) It is not the job of the ACPA MEC to help AC and Jazz mgmnt attract p...

Re: TA Passed
I guess the company extracting the most labour for the least pay is perfectly fine though lol I'd say a new hire pilot at Flair is doing just fine in comparison to other airlines. Add in the lifestyle benefits of multiple bases, no commuting, home every night, relatively high seniority quickly etc....
