Re: Hiring Pool
I received a Jan GS date with my offer. From what I've heard from people the hiring is going to really ramp up in 2024.

Background Check Requiring Current Supervisor
I received the request for a background check. However, they require a current supervisor. My company does not know I am looking to leave, and this could damage my time left with them I believe. How have you guys navigated a situation like this?

What airlines? Any of the major regionals you won't be competitive at yet, with the exception of Jazz possibly.

Re: Corporate Captain or Airline FO?
The offered job is on a king air. I was never driven to the airlines, but after working for some shotty 703’s it seems it might be the way to go, especially with the current hiring frenzy. Figured if I go airline I can always fall back down on corporate or charter ops. For work life I just planned o...

Re: Corporate Captain or Airline FO?
Of course. I’m in a position where I have an airline interview scheduled, and received a corporate offer this morning. So unfortunately have to make a choice, and obviously one choice could lead to no job and being stuck where I am. What’s the better move? Corporate captain for more money and a bett...

Corporate Captain or Airline FO?
What’s the better move? Corporate captain for more money and a better schedule, or commute to an airline job? 1850tt, missing night hours for my ATPL, small amount of single engine turbine, all my hours are multi pic and single pic. Mostly 703, and a bit of 702 experience. Work life balance and mone...

Re: Aerial Survey
For a new pilot you could look into companies that fly LiDAR on 172 and 206 types, or 172 pipeline patrol jobs. Almost all of the pipeline survey companies are Alberta based.

Re: Forest Protection Limited Shadow Role
From chatting with some folks there a while back..... (who have always been nice to chat with!) In a nutshell....everyone typically hangs out in YFC. They have many reload bases around the province. Shadow flys to the reload base nearest to the fire upon dispatch to get everything set up for when t...

Forest Protection Limited Shadow Role
Saw Forest Protection Limited posting for Birddog and Shadow roles.
Cannot find what a shadow role is on google, can someone fill me in ?
I have above the requirements for shadow, but not enough for birddog, and have always thought about fire suppression as a career.
Tia.

Re: How bad is commuting
Can someone give me some insight in working for an airline like WJ or Flair and living 2 hours away from base ? From what I've seen most want reserve response time of 90mins. I'm not moving, so am I stuck working rotations ?
