Re: Does anyone know what the MEC is actually trying to get out of the ULP?

I’m hoping for the pay that was negotiated before the AC interference, what they do about the seniority issue, lump sum, etc… could care less! Wouldn't you be happy to know the MEC protected their member ? It would improve hiring attractivity knowing MEC fought for it. But as I read, as long as YOU...

Yes, we will be getting something. People are hoping for a reinstatement of seniority on AC list, realistic people expect a big one time payment with a generic email. Re: Does anyone know what the MEC is actually trying to get out of the ULP?

Like the title says. Does anyone know what the MEC is actually trying to get out of this process? Will it benefit everyone, a select few? Would love to know Sounds like we will all know by September... It will either be a negotiated 4 party agreement, or an imposed decision by the CIRB which will b...

Re: 5 pilots on 737 laid off

If 5 pilots were let go it’s likely for a valid reason. I find AC is very accommodating as far as employers go. People that need extra help and training generally always get it and more. If one is genuine and honest and making the effort you have nothing to worry about as a new hire or pilot on pro...

Re: Do we have a commuting policy now?

Anyone know if our commuting policy also covers ground travel? I'm sure I remember reading, when the negotiations were ongoing, that commuting by ground would not be discriminated against. If say you live in Quebec City and are commuting by car to Montreal and your car breaks down mid journey would...

Re: 5 pilots on 737 laid off

I’ll add that it takes quite a bit for a company to cut their losses on training, obviously the future training problems were taken into account! Training failures the company will typically go quite a ways with... eventually the writing is in the wall though and experience levels coming in have ne...

They put effort and energy into this because they’re obligated to pursue this. We were on property when that happened. They will spend money, time and ressource because that’s what we are entitled to. Even if it means 3 hawai trip instead if 4 next year. Also, not alot of us believe it will end in ...

Of course there will be something for the Jazzies.

Knowledge

The knowledge of what will happen when it’s their turn and they get skipped.

What compensation will they be entitled to, would it be seniority? Will it be 200k+ ?

Will it be 5000 shine ? Who knows

Sooo, before the union implodes, any updates on the CIRB proceedings? Still stonewalled until ACA MEC is given intervener status? They may never get it. They have applied for it because they were thrown out of the room. Would be a pretty big relief if intervener status is denied. It would indicate ...

It's just natural for some who are already here to want to make it seem better than it really is. Gotta try and fix the cognitive dissonance... Just like how many commuters say "it's really not that bad"..... we all know it sucks! Working 16-18 days per month? Great! Doing training on days off (blo...

Re: Has Air Canada Suspended All Upcoming Ground School Sessions?

As someone who’s been through several booms and busts at this place, I humbly offer my experiences so you can better plan for the transition here. The only thing you’re ever guaranteed at this company is your hourly rate x 900 hours a year. (Even then, I’ve seen less than that). Before I came to AC...

I'll admit that, the BARE BARE BARE minimum will be $85,329 Based on 0 training event, 0 block growth on any month. Right, and that's the number t...

4 Christmas parties in Hawaii were going to get Jazz pilots flying A330s. Think how fucking dumb this is. You would have to be a total moron to think US immigration would ever allow such a scheme. Claude is just a next level hustler This. Not to mention, Jazz doesn’t have enough pilots for their ow...

Re: Jaz Executive Spending

Most of the work CB has done recently has not gone well. Can someone name something he has done that was seen as a success? - Last MOS was voted in at a dismal 60 something percent, had concessions. Most said the company would be back to table, Jazz has just shrunk since. - Scab airlines DOH merger...

Re: Has Air Canada Suspended All Upcoming Ground School Sessions?

I did ask around, and noone is on track on making 85k. you can call me moron, it doesn't make your argument stronger. I did less than 900 as an FO. How do I know this? Because last year I got the 900hr guarantee top up. You are also missing the point. Year 2 FO pay is $85k/year, not $100k+. That is...

Did you even read my post? Year 2 pay based on 900 hours is $85k. ART is ONCE a year. factor in a couple sim sessions, if applicable and sure, you're at maybe $86k. Bet!! Pretty much any year 2 FO who isn't supplementing their incomes with extraneous duties is making the $85k that the current colle...

Re: Has Air Canada Suspended All Upcoming Ground School Sessions?

$94.81/hr x 900 = $85,329. That is the salary. Sure, you can top it with all sorts of thing like unused per diems, SIM sessions if applicable and other means (short call, draft, VO etc.) but the salary alone is $85,329. In September this year, year 2 is $98.60/hr, which x 900 hours = $88,740. In Se...
