Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
This is just sad. Almost as sad as signing a 17 yrs deal and then expecting serious gains after the fact. So, to you, the genius that you, are a 42% increase to top Captain wages and company paid benefits is not serious gains. That said is apparently what was rejected by AC, what I ended up with wa...

Re: Encore hiring Foreign Workers??
Imagine being at the pinnacle of your career, the most you will ever make in your life as a pilot and comparing yourself to average Canadian wages. This literally means you're comparing yourself to Walmart workers, garbage men, bus drivers, librarians, gardeners or whatever other job that takes week...

Re: Moonlighting while at AC
You do realize junior pilots don't have a DB pension? That is the largest concession there is. Anyone who knows anything about pensions wants a defined benefit pension over a target benefit pension. It's literally in the words - "target" instead of "defined" And not sure how junior pilots benefited...

Re: Moonlighting while at AC
We agree on a lot it seems, but we're going to have to differ on this. Year 1-4 didn't get thrown under the bus, they saw the biggest relative gains. I guess you had to be at AC over the previous 15 years to really understand what junior pilots thrown under the bus looks like. Junior pilots this ye...

Re: Commuting
I see of Lt. Dan's articles, the newest is 2016. It was after 2016 that the US pilot groups clawed back their bankruptcy era losses. AC pilots had a reopener in 2017 but most had their heads up their asses with the ACPA incumbents and didn't have any urgency in possibly achieving at least a little ...

Re: Moonlighting while at AC
It is absolutely ludacris to say they "made out better than everyone else" when it simply horse shit. Look at the metrics. Except it's true. Sure, they had a bigger hole to pull out of and they didn't get all the way out. But like math and stuff, year 1-4 saw the biggest relative gains. Not to ment...

Re: Moonlighting while at AC
Wouldn't it be better if they just paid properly out of the gates and treated pilots like professionals?Ash Ketchum wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 6:13 pm Got to take that early upgrade but who knows how long that will last. My guess is things slow down in the next 2 years with a possible recession on the horizon.
And the union fought for this?

Re: Moonlighting while at AC
The only way to get more is to go all the way to test the true limit. We didn't get there. We didn't have the balls and the company knew it. We were still not even 72 hours prior to a strike position and hadn't issued strike notice and the company pulled one thing off the table, said they weren't b...

[quote=30westpirate post_id=1320105 Did ACPA fix 4 year flat pay in 2014? Did ACPA deliver any QOL improvements in 2014? Did ACPA increase vacation credits or daily min guarantee in 2014? Re: Emirates road show July 14-20 … an alternative to AC?
Look mate i get it, the wawcons in our country for pilots is probably the lowest in the planet and that's not only disappointing but shameful. I don't know what happened when they took the DEC's but i would presume the experience level wasn't there to upgrade people. You see the problem with upgrad...

What benefits would it be to contract at shit loads of money instead of just paying shit loads of money for employees, I don’t get your logic here! As a US Airline pilot, I find this thread dreadful
Like do you guys really debate if technically your junior pilots are in poverty?!

Re: Is the ACPA Motto: "We will get'em next time" gone?
This move from the MEC makes no sense. All it does is drag the process out mean while we are getting paid the same and under the same conditions. While they keep labour cost low. Also there is a good chance of no retro active pay. The company is winning lol. If an impass is called June 1st. We woul...

Re: New CA Expectation
Has anyone heard from the FedEx pilots? They aren't hiring anymore but we're offered a 30% pay increase, plus 30% increase to the legacy pension and a company-funded replacement for the legacy pension. The deal represented the largest investment in a pilot contract in history, on a per-capita basis,...

Re: Negotiations
The likelihood of having such a dramatic increase in wawcon is close to none... I wish it were true though! That said, they also need a way to attract people to the left seat, especially those having the hours but are unwilling to pay for the commute and the hotel before a pairing. Good luck to the...
