Technically you should get a boat cache or land use permit for the boat. MNR in the NW region of Ontario checks up on boats during the winter months and will confiscate your boat if it does not have a number on it.

You could also check with some of the bait fishermen. I know this spring there were a few of them looking for a pilot to help out. It would probably be a supercub or something similar.
