Also, personally I front end load PDM on every exercise, this constitutes the “why” element of the PGI.

It's still really slow today. Depending on how much control you have on your server here are a few things you should do : If you can use sudo/su commands, I would advise you to use iptables as it will block the attacks directly from a network point of view.
