Re: Swoop pay

Folks don’t sell yourself short to get into a 737. That pay rate is almost half of Air Canada’s, and a fraction of what our US partners make to do the same job with most probably way better working standards. THERE IS A PILOT SHORTAGE! No need to race to the bottom!!

Re: Headsets

Bose A20 hands down, best headset and wish I would have bought one when I started flying turbo props, I used it on the A320 and now on the EMJ. I was able to write mine off as well. Money well spent!

Re: Air Canada Pool

Sounds like 280 new hire pilots for 2016 projected... If this is so it should exhaust the commitment to the Jazz PML. Cross your fingers folks.

Re: Keystone Navajo Accident in Thompson

I flew a Cheyenne that accidentally got filled with avgas as the fueler thought it was a Navajo and it was a common mistake that we had to watch very carefully. Luckily that situation is no big deal really... also flew a dc3 that got filled with jet fuel, that was a long process to empty and clean.....

Re: Keystone Navajo down in Thompson.

It's very sad these guys can still operate... Again don't know the details on this one and don't want to speculate but how many accidents/incidents can one company have, under the same management and still continue to run.

Thoughts to those onboard, hope for a speedy recovery.

Re: 10 year agreement with pilots

This is good news for us folks swimming in the pool for the last couple years. Sounds like hiring will spool up soon enough and the nice welcome gift of 10k won't hurt. It sure is nice to see a positive contract for a change, although it not all out in the air yet, it sure looks promising.

YWG Herc crews

I was flying along the other night into Winnipeg just north of Gimli and this unreal light came on over lake Winnipeg. I asked center what was going on and they said it was a Herc training over the lake... This thing was amazing, I don't think it was a flare, but more of a spotlight. The power was i...

The is an excellent app for the iPhone/iPad called cold altitude, I believe it was designed by an Air Canada pilot... Works awesome and use it all the time in the arctic.

Re: Non-Aviation Reference

For your first few jobs, hands and feet are no where near as important as customer service! You are the front line to the company, its representative, away from base you call the shots right? If I was in a position to hire someone who was looking to get their first job flying, i would want a referen...
