Re: For Dash Fans

I love the Dash-8. I flew them for several years. Then the Q400. I did not like the Q as much as the “classic”.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

There is something very telling in this for those contemplating chasing tin and money overseas....... The other interesting thing is the massive experience difference between the "Off the Street" nerw hires and Jazz PML new hires. Not sure why AC is continuing with such a high ratio PML intake when...

Re: Air Canada and SFO - Part III

Do you know that this incident actually involved overtime junkies? Doesn’t say what time of day it occurred. Might have been one of those 3 am YYZ time landings? I would imagine there would be some significantly lower experience in the flight deck too with very quick upgrades and hiring barely above...

What's happening with the Q in YVQ? Is it because of upgrades? Flow? People just moving out of the base?
All of the above plus for a new hire FO YVR from out of town it’s extremely expensive to live there. Loved the YVR flying I did but unless you have a place to stay it’s pricey out there.

Re: Jazz YHZ Base Rumours

Not really a rumour. The -100s are going west to do the ex B1900 routes like Lethbridge and Red Deer and of course Cancelgar which the Q400 can’t do.

Boeing needs to hire those East Indians who call me on a daily basis on behalf of the Canada Revenue Agency and put them back to work and figure out their software coding.

There is definitely something coming. I saw on one of their social media posts, a picture of their blank CRJ with the caption "Exciting things are happening". I sure hope they stick around. Just more opportunities for pilots. Stick around for what?? So they can continue to disrespect and under pay ...

Re: Georgian AD

Unless they have other flying in the works I can’t see why they would be hiring. The 1900s are parked and I believe 6 CRJ-200s will be at Jazz by the end of the month.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Waiting 3-4 months is extremely long. Down south they tell you the news one week after the interview. My question is, why is no one following up with HR? If they tell you 6-8 to weeks and you haven’t heard at 10 weeks, I would shoot an email to see what the deal is no? Cdn I think most are afraid t...

Re: New hire bids

I would say the majority of GGN pilots coming over will likely want YYZ base. YYZ used to be the most junior base but not any more. Quite a few retirements in the next 2-3 years though.

A lot of time the detectors go off even if you don’t have any metal. It’s just a randomizer to keep the CATSA monkeys busy.

Re: A message to all GGN Pilots from a Jazz Pilot

If you have a reserved seniority # at Jazz and you want to come over, all you really have to do is write up a resignation letter and give them notice that you are resigning. They can’t legally force you to stay. Talk to your union rep or get them to put you in contact with a Jazz ALPA rep.

The left wing wouldn’t have been Scheered if the bus was wasn’t riding higher after he threw Jody under it.

Note the name on the bus. Trudy is a left winger and he definitely threw Jody Wilson Raybold under the bus.

Re: Jazz YHZ Base Rumours

In the small likelihood that this rumour turns out to be true, any idea how much advance notice Jazz employees would get that it is happening before it does so? Jazz is a publicly traded company so the employees are usually the last to find out. ie: if they told us they were ordering 50 CRJ 900s ne...

Re: Jazz YHZ Base Rumours

The YYC guys and gals will likely be doing it since the YVR DH8 base is now officially closed and the company kiboshed the idea of the Q400 doing YCG. I did hear from a manager that AC wants (in the not too distant future) to no longer have any B1900 CPA flying, but have not yet heard of the -100s d...

Been a lot quicker last couple of years since it became Aeromag. Of course they send the deice experts over and basically tell us to deice every time out of there in the winter. Doesn't hurt the block expansion though!

They don’t have a crewing problem. They could pay less for new hires and still have pilots jumping over each other for a job. They have Jazz covered too with the 60% agreement.
