Re: TA Passed.

Isn't it easy to justify you are the good one? Everyone else is bad and you are the good ones. I work at neither of these two companies, but I can tell you giving in to a 17 year contract benefits no one in the industry at large but yourselves. Once again the allure of working at AC has let Jazz pi...

Re: Narrowbody Preference: EMJ vs A320

As for the OP Original question, A320 vs EMJ That depends, the good news is you will have access to aeronet a good month before your course starts. Meaning you will have access to all the schedules, equipment bids, training reports, bid packages, etc Do a little homework and have a look at all those...

Re: Narrowbody Preference: EMJ vs A320

There is no question that contractually wise the WORK and SCHEDULING rules and PAY is better at the Mainline. However it is not about Rouge being better than Mainline or vice-versa, its about getting into a seat that will give you the best of these 2 FACTORS as a new hire... Lets look at the 2 facto...

Re: GGN CRJ Captain

Darkhelmet, I don't understand your point. Of course Jazz is a better job than Georgian. Everyone knows that. I flown turbo props overseas and had better conditions and pay than you at Jazz. Everyone knows that conditions and pay in Canada suck on the whole compare to many other places in the world...

Re: GGN CRJ Captain

OK so you're an 8 year FO but I call a bit of BS I think more like 10 year. Still don't think that's a very compelling argument - go to Jazz - be an FO for 10 years and you can make more than a GGN Capt day 1. Really OK if you think that is making an argument against GGN Call BS all you want, the f...

$72 an hour, minimum guaranteed is 70. Average block is around 85 hours. Overtime is available most of the time if you want it, time and a half kicks in after 90 hours. Wow!!!!  I made more than that flying right seat on the RJ at Jazz. Where the RJ job was 1000% better in ALL aspects...

Re: Express Pilots VS Mainline Pilots

I try to avoid posting here and have not posted for a while. Hard to ignore this topic as I have sat on both sides of the fence. Truthfully, many pilots are qualified to work at AC. Unfortunately, no one is entitled or deserving of a job at AC. There are more losers then winners (OTS and Express). G...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Dark Helmet, honest question, are there any 2nd year 767 FO's at any of the US majors? Stig, Honest answer I don't know. rudder may know since he initially brought it up... Regardless, what the US and overseas carriers are paying their widebody pilots is a positive thing for airline pilots in Canad...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Pardon my ignorance but AC pays it's guys/gals this "shitshow" starting salary to fly a long haul airliner which a B767 is, to international destinations. FFS, my pension is better than that and I am old and cranky.............. 2nd year 767 FO pay at UA/DL/AA is approx US$150/hr. AC pays approx C$...

Re: Addressing all ALPA Canada MECs on FLVCs

Gilles, Did your ever consider the fact that ALPA Canada actually supports your fight against the foreign pilot issue. Maybe ALPA does not support the methods in which you are using to fight this issue. For example, do you believe Dan appreciates the fact that you have posted one of his letters on a...

Actually you can ACPA for getting the ball rolling for the government to lower the bar.... Do you actually think the government looked at ACPA and said "hey look at them, they got things headed down the crapper so let's accelerate it for them"? Really? Rockie, ACPA was not LR's first victim. This h...

 Wow and the AC folks were accusing Jazz of bringing the bar down when our 757 rate was $155 (status pay aside). Layoffs of Air Transat Pilots November 24, 2011 - The Air Transat pilots’, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), reacted to the announcement of the layoff of 17 pilots and denounced the airline’s subcontracting strategy which utilizes seasonal foreign workers. Re: king air to air canada

DockJock, First of all , this topic is about King Air to AC, not CMA B1900 to AC. Respectfully, I do not think you or I or anyone-else knows how many Jazz pilots were interviewed and hired by WJ vs how many were interviewed and hired by AC. Unless you have actual figures that the rest of us don't. F...

http://travel.yahoo.com/p-interests-40711682 Dont see you on this list! Nor do I see Westjet. Keep scrolling, it's in at number 22. Sorry dude, I figure I break it to you before LisaS replies to you with one of her pompous immature remarks. FWIW I flown on both WJ and AC and both are good.

Re: king air to air canada

I don't k now why I am getting involved in this but what the heck, Sepia, I think what KAG was trying to say is that during the last hiring round, AC hired less pilots from Jazz than before. So it was all relative. Back in the late 90's, most of the pilots hired at AC came from the regionals. You pr...
