Re: Anyone have the TC liquids page on file ?

From the government website at https://travel.gc.ca/air/liquids "You are allowed a single one litre (1 quart) clear, closed, resealable bag containing your liquids, food and personal items in your carry-on baggage. All containers of liquids, non-solid food and personal items must be 100 ml/100 grams...

16 years ago they refused me and another of my co workers the ability to transfer government pension / buy back time. I haven't heard of anyone doing it since, especially now with the new hires no contribution pension plan.

If this was Air Canada, the media would be all over it, there would be calls for an immediate inquiry and people would be demanding the public beheading of the pilots involved.

Here are two screen captures of the flight profile on Flightradar24 (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flig ... 52#caa236c). The pics show the different altitudes at the same place on both approaches.

Here is a video taken from the other side of the bay. I think this should settle the issue of whether or not the original pics were photoshopped..

2 days ago I applied from nav Canada website and did the online testing. out of 30 questions I could manage to answer just 23 in 8 minutes and out of these 23 I am 100% sure that 18 is correct reply. I have got the green light. Now I curious comparing to others how is my position in nav Canada pool...

Re: When is it appropriate for Pilot to call shift Supervisor?

I don't see a problem with you calling the shift manager, I encourage pilots to so. If you are not happy with the service you were provided or you think there was a safety issue (as in this case), by all means call. Don't wait 3 days, do it as soon as possible. When you call the shift manager upon l...

Re: Training Question

Did the candidates who failed the written test not get a retest? Or once you fail you are done type thing?? Yes, you do get a retest or re-eval if you fail in the sim. Sadly though in this case they failed the retest too, which yes leads to cease training. It also depends by how much you fail. Usua...

Re: Approach clearance

I was going to ask what approach you'd offer if a flight plan was filed showing the aircraft as having LOC capabilities but not ILS - but I see there's no discrete code for that, so I guess the question can't be asked. On the subject of plate titles, it looks like they don't put more that two. So I...

Re: Approach clearance

It would certainly make a lot of sense to me to hear CLEARED LOCALIZER RUNWAY 05 APPROACH, GLIDESLOPE U/S - as a reminder to ignore the glideslope indicator if it was showing anything. I see that KBUF, KIAG and KROC (the first three I checked) all have plates titled "ILS or LOC". I've never seen a ...

Re: Approach clearance

So what would you reply to a non glide-slope equipped pilot who requested the LOCALIZER approach runway 12 at CYHM? The plate is titled ILS or NDB Rwy 12 (GNSS) . I would tell him that there is no published Localizer approach on RWY 12 at CYHM. That appears directly to contradict the text of the CA...

Re: Approach clearance

We are required to use the published name of the approach. If it is called the ILS 25 the a/c is cleared for the ILS 25 glide path un serviceable. If the approach is labeled "ILS/DME 25 or LOC/DME 25" the a/c may be cleared for the LOC/DME approach. From the old MANOPS 465.1 "specify in an approach ...

Still it shouldn't take that much to get more regular going....don't they have designated trainers for the basic? as far as OTJ the qualified controller just supervises, provides feedback and intervenes when necessary correct? so how does it take additional man power to have the licensed controller...

but if they are truly that short, it would make sense to offer more regular training courses (increase from 2 per year to 4 per year) or something like that until the empty seats are filled. All of this training requires qualified controllers to leave the floor to teach the course as well as more c...

That seems pretty clear but it does not explicitly state flight levels appropriate for Cvfr flight in class B space I would determine for reading this that one should use IFR altitudes based upon the direction of flight in these conditions. But i could easily be wrong It isn't a question of what al...
