Re: Kelowna Flightcraft moving to YYZ

Ha ha ha ha ha....like a fish out of water Barry this will spell the end of KFC..They have no idea what they are getting themselves into and are twenty years behind the times with their DC10's. It might have worked in your little cocoon in Canada but not in the big bad open market.

Re: North Cariboo Layoffs

The farm was sold to the USA many years ago boys. A lot of people had their eyes closed when it took place and many people are still unaware of that particular situation.

Re: First Air

And the bedwetting continues. No worries I hedged myself against these stark realities some time ago. More it goes down the more I smile. Just waiting for buying opportunities now but the bottom is nowhere in sight yet. This is going to be a gooder and the whole landscape will be altered. Got real e...

Re: First Air

I love dropping by once in a while and checking out the fantasy world that 5T and 7F live in. 7F because they can't get any charter work and have to fight 5T for a piece of the scheduled pie and 5T because charter is what they live for. The charter market is very fickle boys. It comes and it goes, l...

Re: Price of oil and aviation

This is a pretty humorous thread. Nobody in this world knows where the price of oil is going or when. The price is tied to so many political footballs around the world it is virtually impossible to say what will happen next.Any cowboy who thinks he knows, well good luck with that. Do a little more i...

What real estate/hangars would that be in which "choice" cities? They lease everything.

Re: Canadian north to buy first air

Don't see any artificially low prices on any of the northern routes these two operate. You could even speculate on price fixing. Just saying. And the fact that they are both owned by northern beneficiaries and people seem to think that they will operate at a loss to haul family members around like a...

Don't worry people the competition bureau will never let this one through. So both airlines can keep on chasing the same crackers.

Re: Canadian north to buy first air

Actually I think the argument is hilarious. Canadian North has not crashed an aircraft but owns nothing (infrastructure). It all looks wonderful from the outside but requires huge amounts of cash to service. Their 737-300 leases are ridiculous but are justified in their eyes because of the oil sands...

Re: Canadian north to buy first air

I love Skydrol. The fact that these two ( Canadian North and First Air) could not carry on the status quo was pretty obvious for anyone willing to open their eyes. The fact that Canadian North owns nothing and made numerous cash calls to Nunasi in the past tells the innocent bystander something. Can...

Re: On holding more than one license...

Seems a lot of people are talking through their hats. I have an M2 and have had for 25 years. I also have an E license and have had that for 20 years more or less. Transport keeps renewing my M2/E no problem.

The Q400 has been around for more than 15 years. It was not a big success for Bombardier. If it is anything like the other Dash 8's ( which it is) it will be a hangar queen.

Re: Question and invitation for contractors

The situation in Canada is really a farce. Twenty five years ago it was the norm to have all accommodation and transportation paid for, a per diem of $50.00 was the bottom of the barrel and the wages were at least what is being offered by these people. So have we moved ahead? Have we kept abreast of...
