Re: Where is this so called shortage

During my time at CYYC I noticed some elitist, smug pilots who would look down their noses at anyone who wasn’t a pilot like them (as if their role was so much more important than anyone else at the airport) and I noticed plenty of pilots who were the exact opposite. I was shocked at several Westjet...

Re: Stay in your lane, next time.

A couple of years back I assisted an older gentleman who suffered cardiac arrest on an air canada flight. I had to clamber over a few rows, we had just parked on the gate. I started cpr, had the FA find the AED. What really surprised me was 1. They didn't jump into cpr, and 2 they had a bag, and oxy...

Has there been any changes to CARs 421.26

We have a number of people that i believe are getting hosed by the local flying school. They have been telling there students that "transport" likes to see the PPL students have 70 hrs before flight test. Such that they have been padding the times"62 hrs for a rec license". Anybody have any info reT...

Re: Getting current prior to employment or not?

First job, low/no timer. Most companies won't mind training you on the airplane, however they won't want to re-teach you your ifr. I'd probably do the redbird renewal @6-700$, but you could probably just do a few sim hours handflying full approaches. I can probably tell in the first 1.5 in the airpl...

Re: 20th Century power

Waaaayyyy back i read an article that equated longevity to piston speed. To get power use plan pressure, length of stroke, area of piston and number of power strokes. To make more power move more air, or increase the efficiency. Figure out the number of rpm a 2.2l subie needs to make 180 hp, then fi...
