Re: Air Canada deal dead

Perhaps. But really what's to give? Separation of C group from ALPA Canada? Roll call voting on common Canadian policy and lobbying issues at ALPA Canada like every other ALPA group has? In exchange for roughly twice the resources and a bigger voice? And a unified front for professionals in this cou...

Re: Air Canada deal dead

Peladeau offer is (was?) $5. Any idea what price TRZ will open at on Monday morning? Absent any specific comment from the players left, I'd put a low open on it, but it will find support at $4.00-$4.15. If PKP firms things up at $5 with TRZ CEO/BOD and Quebec government support... $4.85. Some peopl...

Bring on the instructors as contractors. Or make someone else senior an instructor.

Are you guys collecting CEWS?

Re: Sunwing Cancels All Flights Through June 23

Once again - the regulatory requirement is greater than 24 months from EXPIRY of PPC. If you are renewing annually, it is 36 months from last PPC. If renewing semi-annually it is 30 months from last PPC. I last flew March 4th, 2020 and my last PPC was June 2019 (we do LOFT in lieu of PPC when able)...

Re: Air Canada and Transat A.T. Inc agree to terminate Arrangement Agreement

Go back and read the 90 pages of certain Transat pilots gloating about taking AC seats and jobs away from ACPA pilots. It’s hard to see it now but this really is the very best outcome for all us peons. Omar Alagraba is already in Twitter this morning saying the feds are ready to step in and save Qu...

And the true colors of the AC pilots come as expected. No way to debate that reputation now eh? Good luck guys.

Hopefully we see an industry aid package soon and PKP gets his act together and follows through on his offers to steady the TS course forward.

Re: Sunwing Cancels All Flights Through June 23

FWIW... AC 737 guys did 2 years+ no flying. Return is short course and line indoc. I haven't flown OR been in SIM for 13 months now. There are new-hires that have been even longer and never even started line-indoc. By the time we work through the training backlog, a lot of us will be 24+ months wit...

That's not accurate. They were Canadian Pilots. Guys at Canadian Regional went to what became Jazz, and of they came to AC they went BOTL.

Re: Operate a city centre airport - investors sought

You have to know Brookfield may make a move here, or at least are looking closely. There was a lot of bad blood down there at the city airport over the way things were done not too long ago. Now Calin Rovinescu has a $600 billion financial powerhouse backing him to make moves and acquisitions into t...

Tried to explain?

That's not how it sounded.

"Hey bro flying the cargo to all the hotspots is like, cool, bro."

The guy sounded like a dick. 30 hours at premium is the only motivation.

Re: I'm going to court

You absolutely can argue and win against the government and their bureaucrats. Now, there may be more to this story, but they cannot spuriously cancel a valid medical, and maintain that under review, because you don't submit to their additional arbitrary examinations seemingly out of nowhere. Been t...

What's their reasoning?

He passed a medical.

There's no hearing problem.

They can't just call you for arbitrary tests out of the blue.
