Re: Swoop Blacklist

There are guys paying to fly Airbuses in Europe and in Asia. I've even heard of pay-to-command schemes out there. For those of you advocating a free for all capitalist environment, would you standby or even support this sort of practice? After all, its market driven. If yes, why? For the sake of res...

Re: SWOOP startup/WJ Tail loss

As WJ migrates 10 tails to Swoop, what happens to the 100 or so pilots that the company is now fat on? What happens in 3 years when they migrate another 10-30 tails? The Single Employer provisions of the CIRB were designed to expressly deal with the situation you envision. If jobs start to migrate ...

Re: Why would anyone want to go to Swoop?

Ok.

So now that WestJet is unionized. Are they pushing for significantly better wages or are they only focused on combating Swoop?
Does anyone know what their new contract will focus on?
What's a likely time-frame for getting it signed?

Re: Why would anyone want to go to Swoop?

How about Canada vs the Rest of the world Salary review? THIS! Whats wrong with Canada? Honestly? A quick look south of the boarder and you can't help but see pilot groups getting better and better deals. I think Spirit airlines is about to sign something like a 43% compensation increase... And wha...

Re: Porter Salary

Are pilots really that much of an expense?

Would these regional airlines go under if they paid F/Os say 80k and CAPTs 140k? I highly doubt it.

Re: Separate forum for Swoop <please>

I understand the emotions that some feel for the Swoop airline, but it sounds like there is no shortage of applicants (qualified) and all indications are that it will be starting on time. Can we have a separate forum to discuss Swoop issues, seeing as it only has a peripheral connection to WJ? Than...

Why slam them? Their starting pay is at least higher than the other regionals.
Slam them all! Even the majors in Canada have substandard wages compared to the rest of the world.

We all need to fully realize that. We need to get angry and we need to do something about it.

If that's what they have to do to not pay more, then that's what they'll do.

Re: GGN CRJ Captain

So you think Jazz pilots problem with GGN pilots is inter company pride, sorry it’s about doing the same job for significantly less money that I have a problem with. One poster in this thread mentions praying for CRJ 900s, at what rate I might ask but I already know the answer. 1. Just a quick remi...

Re: Ggn recruiter ad.

The ad's and new position are due to their new agreement with Air Canada. Increased flow to AC means the crank gets turned faster than ever Flow? Since when do any of the AC Express carriers have flow? Some of the American feeders have flow. No such thing here. Get your carrot-dangling bullshit out...
