Forget that noise. I'm buying that Hereford brand corned beef from Brazil.

Re: Training for ultralight permit in Saskatchewan?

True even with the Sask sales tax the commute might bump up the costs. They were hoping there might be at least a couple of ultralight instructors near by. astroguy is even further in Ontario. You never know though. Sometimes talking to someone leads to talking to someone else and you find out there...

Re: Stuck above the clouds with no instruments

I know, the title specifies no instruments, but... I thought a big part of taking instrument training was to avoid stalls and spins.

Here they almost seem to be presented as some sort of cloud solution tool.

Re: Training for ultralight permit in Saskatchewan?

Of course. I think the fellow wants to save money though. I'm not picking a side because if I was looser with my purse strings I might be flying today instead of pounding keys here.

Also once I board an ultralight it might not fly or it may become just a light. :(

Re: Prostate Cancer Warning

I'm going to speak out and say every man would prefer not to have their prostate removed. I am fairly confident that is never a recreational procedure. At any rate, I suspect you will just need to find out what TC will ask for and how they will treat you. It seems like every case is different. The p...

Is this going to be a huge list?

I better add soft drinks, pizza and BBQ.

I like motorcycles but sorely neglect the poor things. My wife says I should only rent them. Don't tell her but, she's probably right.

I don't know what happened to astroguy. He was posting some of his adventures in his little plane. Looked fun and sounds like what you'd like to do.

Here's an example from the home builder's forum here.

Re: "Trip from hell".

I suppose cancelling due to lack of crew might help you get reimbursed. If so bonus. I was providing anecdotal evidence to support complexintentions factual inference that going on a trip and flying with any airline, might leave one looking for a place to stay longer. Because full-fare airlines neve...

Re: "Trip from hell".

Am I the only one that has had to get out my credit card, go to a hotel and order pizza because my return flight was cancelled due to weather riding with Air Canada? There was no pity from the carrier. "Sorry, flight's cancelled due to weather. Not our fault." Next day everything was unsure, so I go...

Re: Question regarding, manifests, airlines and regulations. Boarded a plane, fell asleep and missed my stop

I'm sure nothing will happen but they are not supposed to just flight plan for a number of souls on board then have an extra one. The point of that is if there is a accident and someone wanders off SAR knows to ground search for them. Flight plan says 9 souls on board and we count 7, where are the o...

I know the regulations of the EASA or FAA because they speak clearly but your regulation is so confusing and nobody knows what they say.

Re: Waiting on my medical from TC - to start or not to start flight training?

That's a tough one. Part of me thinks, "Go, take lessons and have some fun."

I am almost leaning toward, "Don't get addicted until you have a medical and know it won't be taken away."

For me it is tough to quit flying. I really should, I just can't seem to do it enough to stay current.

Re: Anyone from the sault want to state their own opinions of the school?

The problem with things like yelp and other online rating sites is, if a person is happy they just carry on but if something goes wrong they are angry and make sure they put it out to warn everyone and punish the place. I'm not saying there might not be issues but a few people complaining is expecte...

Re: Spin Entry Controls

Anecdote. The only time I got a really great spin in a Cessna 172 was after I had been away for a while during my PPL training. My instructor asked me to demonstrate a stall and recovery, then as I raised the nose without pulling the throttle to idle he commented, "Woo, he's going for one with power...
