Re: Types of ELT

Seems like I shouldn't need to write AP on a flight plan. If it's working properly and starts moving it must either be portable or someone is taxiing the plane. Then again, I have seen several times when an ELT was triggered on the property of CYYC and was somehow signaling near Cochrane. A hand hel...

He clearly wasn't an optimist if thought he'd be there long enough to plow the land, grow enough wheat to make flour and make cookies Seems pretty cup half full to me. Re: Avro Arrow blueprints on display after sitting in Sask. man's home for decades

The guys in Springbank have a partially completed replica they have been building based on pictures. I figure they deserve to check some blueprints to see how close they are.

They have finally caught the attention of the EAA, I noticed an article about them in one of the e-mails last year.

Those FAA guys sound like morons. Tim Hortons doughnuts are garbage, I have not had a good one since the turn of the century.

I recommend they go to Texas, I had some fantastic doughnuts there.

Is just the e-beaver that colour?

I just watched Bob Falfa race his '55 chevy against John Milner in a Duece coupe that looked a bit like that.

Re: Cookie cutters in a survival kit?

I'm with him. I'm not as feisty anymore but.... My survival kit was put together to help me set up Gilligan's Isle. I used to tell all my CASARA buddies, "If we go down, I'm not waiting for you guys to find me. I'm building a town." If I was into cookies I'd need some cutters to make my favorite sha...

Re: FAA bans US flights over Middle East....

I agree with the concept pie but sometimes apologizing comes a bit too easy for some Canadians. It dilutes the meaning in my opinion. I just don't see why our fearless leaders say sorry for some of the things they do. What's the point of apologies for things you had no part of? Residential schools w...

Fret not; keep flying. It will all come together. (But you do have to fly more than once a month...) :smt003
Aww, man... I'll never get it to come together. :(

I have been able to do it several times a year lately.

Hangars for sale.

I figured we could use a thread to share interesting listings.

California. A bit pricey for just a building. I would definately try to negotiate for the long board pictured.

Captain, "Yeah, I don't know why that happened, I have been practicing lots, just last week I was doing greasers in a 172."

I suspect they are referring to pilots going with bare minimum fuel that probably is already below current legal reserves in order to reduce weight.

They don't get discovered unless they run out.

Interesting. Seems like you are suggesting something like a redbird is not a sim but a FTD. I remember those old units at some flying schools that were basically a plywood box with controls and instruments. I might have even refused to call them sims back then. I wonder if a guy can find one of thos...

Ok, annoying but I suppose it prevents Trey and I from setting up a panel van with Microsoft flight sim and then sending guys to Transport with full motion simulator time in their log books. I was only joking but maybe they decided to write a rule to prevent it. Fair enough I guess. Thank you for cl...

Re: A Field Guide to NOTAMs

Well it's flawed but that's modern life isn't it? If a thing is a CYA item they need to mix it in to force us to read everything. If it was seperated out almost no one would read it and they would not be doing their due diligence. Regardless of how seemingly trivial. True enough if a heavy airliner ...

FTD

I was just reading a list of requirements for CPL and it included, Minimum 20 hours instrument time, (of which at most 10 may be in a FTD) What is a FTD? I decided FTD might mean a sim. But why not write sim? Is there some other thing that can be a FTD? Expecting a good mix of information and attemp...
