Re: City urged to keep vintage aircraft YYC - Mosquito

I'm no aerobatics pilot but in the video it seems to me the plane rolled and is inverted for way too long just before things go wrong inducing the spin, I'm guessing because of the yaw from losing an engine at such a high power setting?

Beaver? Nice, I seem to have spelled the price wrong also. Boy is my face red, or more likely green with jealousy.

Re: hotlinked user avatars - hilarity may ensure

I was hoping this was the case and that was not a regular image here. Funny absolutly something I want to see on a forum not as much. I guess I should have firefaux with adblock but I'm too lazy to keep up and update all the technology.

Re: Freezing rain anyone?

Those parachutes that shoot out the top and let the plane float down must make it ok to go take a quick jaunt through it, yeah?

I'll just go ahead and be sad because of the mean things said to me while I'm waiting until they don't forcast freezing rain to fly home thanks.

I hear we're paying to keep Bombardier running anyways. I vote we buy one JSF and copy it to save on building the rest.

Re: Freezing rain anyone?

I hope he doesn't come in here to make fun of us for being sissies because we wouldn't fly if there's freezing rain forcast. I hate it when that happens. I'm still bitter about the guy in Mitchell Iowa that told my brother he should find a new pilot because I didn't like the wind speeds that were bo...

Wow. I quit AirCanada because of the hassles and them taking away my Aeropoints. But if "I can relax and do my thing" I may consider flying with them again. How much are drinks on those flights?

Re: City urged to keep vintage aircraft YYC - Mosquito

I love/hate you a lot. I also have $60 so I'm going to buy a single seat pitts as soon as I find one I can afford then save up for fuel a tank at a time until I achieve that goal you just set for me. I have thought about a pitts, they're not to badly priced sometimes either, though out of my current...

Re: City urged to keep vintage aircraft YYC - Mosquito

I gots 300 hours 172 & warrior. I should be just as good as the guys I heard about going over seas with 5 hours solo time to fly spits. I'm not skeerd, they won't even be shooting at me, le' me at 'em!

Ok I'm kidding but I'm not afraid, if I had the money I'd get type checked on P-51

I was on the fence and trying to stay out of here but you've changed my mind Hedley. That's a seriously good plan. I wonder if the british dude would go for it. One of the complaints I heard from my father inlaw was, "What if they restore it and then crash and burn it?" I was thinking it would be ni...

I agree with the FSS remark, there was sometimes you'd meet a grouch but most of them were really helpfull if you wanted/needed help. I hate Met and appreciated being able to have someone that liked it tell me what was going on. I went to the coast with another green pilot in 1996 or 7, I wouldn't h...

Re: Manitoba looks to heavens to deal with winter roads

The railway makes the most sense. Because it would create a monopoly, private or foreign investors might be interested to chip in. They are much cheaper to maintain, than roads... :smt040 This is true. Also you can make the tracks straight and put a really good wild life bumper/snow plough on it so...

Re: 1975

We might need a new thread for this. Since Diefenbaker cancelled the arrow and tied our dingy to the US&A's aircraft carrier, mounting this revolution might be tougher than a loud protest and beaver pelt collecting boycott of days gone by. Off to the American aquired "Canadian tire" for some rakes a...

Re: Bombardier fined for discrimination

Just going by what I read in the thread I didn't look at the link. (flame away when I'm wrong) This guy wanted an American license but is trying to get it in Canada? At some point he would have been refused this license by the FAA. So the court finds Bombardier guilty of discrimination for stopping ...

Railways and permanent roads up north. Good one. Freezing and thawing is pretty tough on all the current technologies for those. Other wise the Alaskan highway would not be mostly a gravel road. Sorry tester, it is still a club 3-6 times a year. I probably won't be out on the 18th. Though I will likely renew my membership before the price goes up. I'm still bitter they don't give me a spiffy wallet card anymore.
