get your ATPL PIC requirement before applying to a 705 operation.
I have all the required time, except total time.
How much total time do you have right now? The website says they want 750

10 years ago yes, now you’d be able to spend your entire career there on an IATRA if you didn’t want to go left seat or to AC.
Still wonder if they do have a recent history of hiring without the A's done tho...

Re: ATPL as a requirement

Hi, Just wondering if they ask you to have your ATPL written prior to being invited for an interview or being granted a GS date? Can they live with us having the IATRA for a few months? 10 years ago yes, now you’d be able to spend your entire career there on an IATRA if you didn’t want to go left s...

Re: Encore, then Jazz?

Do what's best for you. If you want to leave your current position and encore offers you a job then take it and try commuting. From what I've heard commuting there is fairly easy. You're at encore for a few months and realize commuting isn't for you and Jazz offers you a spot then take it. You have ...

ATPL logbook question

I'm writing my exams shortly. I have pretty much the bare minimum PIC time for the ATPL but lots of FO time in 703 and 705 machines. One of the requirements is an additional 100 pic x-country or 200 copilot x-country. I have over 2000 hours copilot x-country but no column in my logbook for that; my ...

Re: DOH merge.

I think everyone is getting worked up over nothing. I don't think they will merge the company. At least not with Mainline. Maybe with Rouge but that was a risk they took when they left Mainline for Rouge so they can not cry foul too much about that. They can't. Why do you people keep saying it? htt...

Re: Any chance we just lost our AC flow?

Everyone needs to relax ! Let the deal actually be signed first. And AC isn’t just taking 550 pilots with no aircraft, the planes are coming too. AC will still be short pilots regardless. Not all the planes will fly for AC. I assume the 310's and probably the 737NG's will be parked. The hiring may ...

How is the reliability of these aircraft? It seems like a lot of stuff Bombardier builds has issues.
Pretty sure I read that Air Baltic announced they're going to get rid of their 737's and Q's and will be the first airline to have an all A220 fleet

Get the planes and the crews, sell off the vacation assets. Solves some of their crew shortage problem and extra planes help add capacity.

It's plausible. Will be interesting to see what actually happens.

Re: Jazz or Porter (in terms of commuting out of yul) ?

I'm not particularly versed in the policy at Jazz since I never used it, but if I recall as long as you list for 2 flights prior to you scheduled pairing start you are safe. If you miss both there is no disciplinary action for not being able to get to your base to start the pairing. Perhaps someone...

Re: Jazz or Porter (in terms of commuting out of yul) ?

Jazz 100%. I don't think porter has a YUL base so you would have to commute for your entire time working there compared to maybe 6 months max to get YUL based with Jazz. YUL is very junior so it won't take long to get a transfer there if you don't get it to start with

Re: Record revenues vs 4 year flat pay

How does the flat pay actually work? Does it mean no overtime pay or anything at all for 4 years? No, it just means the pay is the same for all equipment. Overtime available varies fleet by fleet but is paid on top of annual salary. First year mainline salary is flat to 75 hours, then is paid at ab...

Representatives from Air Transat HR, Management and the Pilot Group will be and the Manitoba Aviation Symposium from April 9 to 11th on a pilot recruitment drive. Interested pilots feel free to drop by with any questions, it's a friendly group in attendance! Are they going to go around to locations?

Re: Classic, Q or jet?

Yes, but there are many variables to what constitutes a lifestyle difference, as a commuter you may find a better lifestyle on the Jet but that will also depend on where you commute from. The jet may not overnight where you commute from or it might now but not next month, which will affect lifestyl...

Re: Bid 2019

You will either get yyc or very soon after you start. Dont worry about the base. You can always change that. If you do not hold a YYC Position in the new-hire Bid, make sure to select an Equipment type that is operated on the YYC Base. You can then change your standing bid to show current Equipment...

Re: Jazz Payscale Updated 2019

Anyone who needs pic time this summer should do that since we'll be overstaffed. How will Jazz be overstaffed while sending 240+ pilots (0.6 x 400) to AC over the next 12 months plus adding 5 CRJ900’s prior to year end? I guess. We're also losing 15 -100s and a bunch of Qs. Who knows I guess we'll ...

Re: Classic Dash replacement??

A few years ago, there was lots of talk about lifetime extensions, so I can see the reluctance to consider new aircraft. If planes aren't able to be economically extended, then new airframes is the next logical step. I really doubt we'll see a "Dash-9", although that is a neat idea. Modernised more...
