In 6 years of flying in and out of YWG, I can remember exactly ONE day when not having an ILS to 18 was a problem. And it was only a problem because the CRFI combined with the crosswind on 13 was a little sketchy. I can also count the number of CAT II days on 1 hand. That's cause with the girly ass...

Jazz CPA with mainline is till 2014 but rates are established at 5 year intervals and those rates are determined by a formula using 4 or 5 US regionals as comparison. Your guess is as good as mine if ACE will still be a the majority shareholder of Jazz in 2014.

The new flights that people are also talking about are also not in the computer yet. Actually they are on the computer. I'm not sure what site you're looking at but I easily found the YYC-YXS and YYC-SEA as well as YVR-SAC on the website. I'm curious who you were talking to at YXX that said Jazz wa...

Instead of bitching here. If you have a problem with it take it to your FO rep. That is why you pay union dues.

We have been having a rash of flaps getting stuck in the full or near full position. In this case it was during a go around and they were stuck at full. Our speed is limited to 215 KTS and at that speed and reduced altitude/drag the RJ is a pig on gas. Apparently the actuator greese is freezing up ...

So what happens when management and the union accepts the idea of a combined list and for all intense purposes the list is constructed in the spring. Now we have a group of pilots sitting near the bottom of the Jazz list but ahead of the entire Jazz group because they took the fortitude to just app...

I can almost say for certain that it had nothing to do with his medical. Jazz doesn't get detailed results of the medical, it's confidential. Your'e either fit or unfit. If your'e unfit the Doctor would let you know and try to correct the problem. I believe he would have to pull your medical if it ...

Re: TWA looses yet another contract.

Dust Devil, I somewhat agree with you that government shouldn't compete with private industry,BUT.....Saskatchewan historically has and still has really shoddy flying companys, bordering on criminal. They have treated their people like crap and made them fly crap. If I could get a job with the Sask....

It's fu****g true!!! I just got off the Jazz website. It said 8 grads. Bullshit. As your name implies, your attitude stinks. There is a reason this is happening....Both Jazz and Air Canada have realized that the quality of candidate they are getting is way below their expectations. Extra training, ...

Does anyone have any evidence of this, like a press release or something.....or is it just another case of some nutjob on avcanada talking from their ass again? It's for real, Michel Chiasson, VP of flight ops at Jazz, acknowledged it yesterday on a company website. 8 newhires right of school but d...

C-HRIS Jazz's predecessors have in the past gotten an exemption on the ATR rule for a few pilot's hired in the late 80's. They had been longtime FO's who didn't have the command time when their number came up. TC is all about who you know..... PS For a quicker upgrade, buy your OPs. mgr a gallon of ...

You're right. Greed definitely gets the better of some people. If the company really wanted to get more guys trained they could. They sent a bunch of training guys back on the line not that long ago. As for the 26 they hired in one month, thats only one groundschool course for the Dash and one for ...

Well put Prop2JET!!! As long as management is still hiring pilots then WDO's are defintely not a problem. BCFLYER, managment had 26 newhires on one course in Jan. and have been hiring steady for +18 months. You can't really ask for more than that. There's no sim. time available at CAE. Do the WDO to...

Have a look at pprune.com There are several accidents that happened overseas that wouldn't have happened in Canada. If you were a company, would you really hire someone right out of college when you have 4-5000hrs guys available.... It won't happen any time soon. BCFLYER There aren't a whole lot of...

I think this will most likely be met with fierce opposition from the Jazz pilot group. My question is will these new 200 hour wonders be on a "B" scale or will they be paid the same as any new hire? On one hand I totally disagree with lowering the starting wage at Jazz as it's already too low. And ...

I'm an airline pilot not an Tibetan monk....... I knew I took a vow of poverty coming to Jazz but I didn't think it would be a 10 year vow(I'm at 9 years already). The sooner I'm outta here, the sooner I can get the 2 years of flat pay over with.

what's the wait time for an upgrade at Jazz these days? The time to upgraded to senior FO is 5 years. If you weren't born a capt. then you will never be one at Jazz. Seriously, the most jr. captain started in 1998. but there are a whole lot of people hired from 1998-2001 waiting with only yul/yyz a...
