I volunteered. I'm just curious; do they think that the social media presence is the issue? It's all numbers! Pay! Days off! Pension! Benefits! It's not hard to attract people when the numbers are right.

Re: Captain requirements?

Somewhere in the middle. There was sarcasm there too. My actual friends at Jazz are well aware of the inexperience and that some of the scheduling practices are simply not good, hence why some of them are leaving. I'm mostly poking at people (some Avcanadians) who legitimately think 8 sim sessions ...

Re: Captain requirements?

It doesn't matter who the FO is and how experienced Yeah it does. Anywho, I wouldn't knowingly put my family on a Jazz plane that had a combined crew total time of 2000-2500 hrs(I guess the only way to know is how much acne they have and whether their voice cracks during the PA announcement - or I ...

Because then they appreciated what they had. They look back on their hard work and fond memories from their past. When you used to fight with customers over loads, something like the plane in front taxiing a little slow doesn't even raise an eyebrow. You are making 43 grand starting base pay on a d...

Given how quickly the world has changed in the last 2-3 decades, I'm not surprised that there's a huge disconnect between the boomer and millennial generations

"Adapt or die" They are. Boeing has announced they will be testing self flying planes this summer. Thank God, the thought of putting my family on airplanes flown by the entitled Millennials I have seen over the past decade is terrifying. This is sarcasm right? I feel bad having to ask but at least ...

Re: PML 2.0

All AC/Jazz drivers bitch about WestJets descent being so slow. Guess what, it's SOP and saves a shit ton in fuel. Just because your SOP is .74/290 doesn't mean it's right. I flew the RJ for 5 years and know first hand it's not an effiecient descent profile. The big difference is that Jazz manageme...

Re: Rumor about %30 pay increase

Put the new-hire pay scale back to where it was before 2015 - problem solved. Problem is that Jazz probably want the new-hire pay increases to be counted in the 'cost neutral' calculation meaning they will have to be paid for by concessions elsewhere in the contract. That is a non-starter. Jazz can...

Re: TSB Report into 2015 Jazz 'landing' in CYAM

I said tickling. 10 knots of margin is not a lot, especially if it's a windy day. I must've gotten the wrong idea with the "if not over" statement on there as well. You're right, windy days are a different story of course. Wasn't meant to be a catch all statement. I don't really have much more to a...

Flap operating/extended speed is 170 for flaps 45 . yeppers and why not fly at VNE limits all day long cause the manufacturer says you can do that ! what about redline all engine gauges because you CAN,,,,,, IDIOTS !! I agree with you, as I said 160kts and not 170. I stated the flap limit because I...

Re: TSB Report into 2015 Jazz 'landing' in CYAM

I don't fly the classic, and wasn't there in 2015, but that's nothing like our AOM for the jet. Jazz has been pushing stable approaches for a long time now and were told to say unable if ATC tells us to keep your speed up if it's outside a stable approach parameter. I get told daily 160/170 to the ...

Another +1 for Thunder. I started with them in a desk with a little over 500 hours and next to no MPIC. 10 months later I had a PPC on a King-Air. About 9 months after that I went left seat. Not once did I feel like I was treated unfairly; management is approachable and very reasonable. Never press...

I think he's implying that someone at the hotel where these guys are staying is observing the Pilots behavior the night before and reporting them come morning, with jealousy as the motive.

Re: First year fo pay?

If you're on RSV you per diems could be very low or very high depending on the base and month. In YVR RSV FO was getting called approx 50% of my RSV shifts (as a commuter that sucked). So i'd take home $500/mth in per diem on RSV blocks. Lots of single days in YVR. Can't speak for the other bases. ...

Once you are out of reserve you will average $3300 including per diems on a 80-85 blocking average. Perdiem is Not an income  Or maybe you would like taxes men thinking like you.... The $2200/month isn't far off, but that's not including per diems. If you count per diems you're gonna be over $3000 take-home per month.
