Re: think before you transmit

I flew with a french fellow who would always do the "annnnnnnnd" but his was an "eeeeeeeet". He sounded like Tony Soprano on initial contact "Aaaaaaaaay New York, OWWWWW, how'ya doin'?" Ok, the "owww" was for effect.

Re: Southwest Pilot + Stuck Mike + Pilot Rant = Suspension

Haha! Poor guy. Very embarassing. I wouldn't agree that it was hate-filled at all though, it sounded more like he was complaining that he hasn't met a suitable female in six months :\ to give him the benefit of the doubt, a lot of people use crass words to describe regular stuff to try to sound coo...

ISTP. This week "country" singer Courtney Stodden married actor Doug Hutchison in Las Vegas. The happy couple signed their marriage certificate with the ages of 16 and 51 respectively. Really, I don't care if you wanna marry a guy, a girl, your aunt's schnauzer, or that beanbag chair you had in coll...

That's fine, Gaddafi duck has less than a week to live, the sooner the better, however.

Re: US AirForce Museum

My father took me there when I was 16 and had just started flying. We spent 4 days there and it was one of the best memories of my dad. He wasn't a pilot, but he sure enjoyed airplanes.

Don't go unless you have a minimum of 2-3 days to devote to the place!

That's some serious guts right there. Could we all say that we would have done the same? Who knows? But these guys know who's looking back in them in the mirror, that's for sure

I borrowed from a friend to try, it is no doubt highly effective, but I found it boring for my personal tastes and the instructors annoyed me. Again, that's a simple personal opinion, I can't really fault the program.

Question for new hires who are now on the line

Just wondering for some of you new to Air Canada, are you enjoying the lifestyle? I know about the initial paycut, we don't need to go into it, but overall, are you enjoying the work? Was it worth it to get there, what's the overall sentiment once you're flying the line?

Thanks all!

Re: Which one you will take? if a airline give you a choice.

It's all fine to say "chase lifestyle, not airplanes" but the simple truth is that generally, there is a correlation between the two. As much as it sounds cool to say "I'd fly a C152 if it had a better lifestyle", the fact is...(barring exceptions so miniscule as to be irrelevant)...it will never b...

I befriended an old Air Force gentleman from that era and he swore that the reason that the whole thing was scrapped was that the Russians had infiltrated the program with spies. They had no choice but to scrap the entire thing and were pressured by the Americans to do so. He then said pointed to so...

Re: Which one you will take? if a airline give you a choice.

I'd fly a Cessna 150 if it had better working conditions (pay, schedule, lifestyle, stability). So whichever aircraft has the best situation.
Don't chase airplanes and seats, chase lifestyle.
