Re: Which Canadian Airlines expect their Flight Deck Crew to also be Cabin Groomers?

First thing, lets ignore for a moment what our opinion as pilots is regarding grooming aircraft in between turns. Let’s look at it from the perspective of John Q flying public and ask the average person on the street if they think their pilots clean the aircraft. Most ppl are surprised to learn that...

Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition

I see a new job ad up for Captains and F/O's with the Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal bases. Nothing currently mentions the secondary base structure that was supposed to be coming into place...? Is this something that is still in the works or was it an idea that was axed? I would be very interested in...

Re: Red Deer Student Lost

Since the English proficiency test is gone, shouldn't TC and NavCanada be putting more pressure on the CFIs or schools to ensure students are capable? The language proficiency test isn't gone. The mechanism for getting one is changed as of June 1, but the requirement is still there. However, it's o...

Re: Do the majors even consider a loser with a pardoned DUI?

I believe the question is to the extent of: "Have you been convicted of a crime for which a pardon has not been granted?" It's essentially as if it didn't happen once the pardon goes through. They can't ask, and you don't have to answer. Also, stay out of the USA until the pardon is granted. The Am...

Having said that it has the potential to cause delays when crossing and potential inadmissibility issues crossing other international borders. Which borders? I know quite a few people who have had the European equivalent of a DUI and none of them had ever had problems while travelling. I do not kno...

Re: US turning people away at the boarder for investments in pot.

Well kinda ironic since you can buy a few Canadian cannabis stocks on US exchanges. Like Canopy growth for example. As far as the border cops are concerned I have never owned and currently have no cannabis stocks. It's their job to prove otherwise. If I get denied entry due to owning stocks of a Ca...

Re: New pot legislatiion brings on talk of pilot pee in a cup

While I support cannabis legalisation it is undoubtedly exposing our profession to a large regulatory risk. I would caution all pilots to refrain from cannabis use until firm guidelines are in place on an international level. With legalisation and in the absence of random testing one could arguably...
