Re: Noise Sensitive protesters are kind of...loud

Anyone that's ever used an airplane for travel has no right to complain about the noise they make. They complain yet when they want to travel to visit family, or go on vacation, it's perfectly okay, right? Hypocrisy.

Re: Low time pilot opportunities abroad

I'll say it again, there aren't enough direct flying jobs out of school to go around. Not to mention, not everyone has that outgoing, "winner personality", and luck on their side. 90% of my friends ramped for 6 months - 2 years and it's worked out well. It's not useless. It builds your wor...

Re: North Wright airways

Unless you'd rather spend 2-3 years on the ramp elsewhere, NWA is the place to be. Work hard, do what you're told, don't complain, and be a team player and you'll be flying within a year. Good opportunities for Caravan time and B99 and 1900D pic time after a few years if you can stick it out. Very g...

Re: WHERE ARE THESE LOW HOUR DIRECT ENTRY PILOT JOBS???

Thank you everyone. I was also hoping to get information on the whole "ramp way up" and what are these jobs which require bonds? Just hold out for a flying job, if you can't find one get a bartending job or something and keep looking, you'll find one and given X years you'll end up ahead ...

Re: BCIT Airline and Flight Operations - Commercial Pilot

Either way, having this diploma definitely aided all of us in getting our jobs. I think NWA might even require a diploma/degree nowadays, but I could be wrong on that. Can confirm. NWA requires an aviation diploma. It's a good, safe company and one of the fastest ways to get on a plane. Lots of opp...

Re: 210 hr pilot looking to rent a plane to build more hours

You know you cab write it now, right? Do you have an agreement with your employer that when you have 250 hours you will be in a seat? If not... Look into what I PMd you. I should be more clear - I have written it - my company, and others I've spoken to, just require 250 hrs for the majority of thei...

Re: 210 hr pilot looking to rent a plane to build more hours

I find it hard to see that a company which you already work for needs 250 hours over 210. Are you going right into a right seat King Air and need to have the IATRA valid for 2 crew? This is the only way I see that they want/need this?
This is exactly why, for my IATRA.

There's a TON of captain postings right now

Especially for King Airs. This is a good thing right? Is Jazz and Encore truly starting to suck the higher time pilots from the smaller companies now?

Re: How is it Out There?

It's hiring season all over the place. Show up early, insist you talk to the right people (sometimes it's the CP, Ops Mngr, or a ground manager), take a read on them on how long they can talk to you (they may be very busy), and be very patient. It IS still competitive.

210 hr pilot looking to rent a plane to build more hours

This is probably a long shot, but I am a CPL, multi-ifr rated pilot who is trying to work up to 250 hours to open more doors for myself and reach some of my company's minimums. I am professional, safety-conscious, and respectful. I'm looking to pay for fuel (and possibly insurance) to fly your small...
