Re: Equipment bid
Short-term, I don’t foresee the world being eager/able to lift enough covid restrictions to get the aviation industry significantly moving again. Flare ups and re-implementation of restrictions are going to keep things bogged down for a while. The virus isn’t going away, it will spread and freak eve...

Re: Equipment bid
Well, we never came close to overflowing ICU’s...because of the lockdowns. Unfortunately, we can’t go back in time and see what would have happened had we done nothing, but it’s very clear that the lockdowns were effective. Maybe we went overboard, maybe not, but we didn’t get to low covid levels in...

Re: Equipment bid
Okay, so a few doctors are skeptical, but clearly the vast majority are not. It just takes a few more full or overflowing ICU situations to wake everybody up about the seriousness again. Again, it’s not about the mortality rate. It’s actually about how many sick people the hospitals can handle at on...

Re: Equipment bid
"For COVID-19, [transmissibility] is at a two or three. That means one person can give the virus to two or three other people," explains Dr. Chen Liang, an associate professor with McGill University's department of medicine. "For SARS, I believe it is one-point-something. It's quite low. So, this r...

Re: The Return to Normal?
Why the fu(k would you send samples of extremely dangerous viruses to a lab doing these function gain experiments which are banned in civilized countries? Why would you want to force ebola to mutate into a more dangerous virus? And save "to find a cure" as an answer... a nuke will cure a region wit...

Re: Equipment bid
It seems that the very high transmission rate of this particular virus is going to be a limiting factor in what kind of restrictions we will see lifted, and subsequently what increases we can see in air travel. We also still have to recover from all the economic damage already done.

Re: When do you think flying will be back to february 2020 level
I'm sure things will be very closely back to February 2020 levels in February 2021. Unless there's some super surge in the fall the scare factor of this thing is diminishing. At a point the desire for the masses to travel is going to overcome their fear of the virus. The crunch month is probably go...

Re: The Return to Normal?
If some of you think you have the solution, then the real trick is isolating the vulnerable throughout the entire pandemic and convincing the less vulnerable that’s it’s safe to walk around. “Don’t get within 6 feet of anyone older in your life and if you do, don’t sneeze, and be prepared to catch C...

Re: Lufthansa May file for bankruptcy
Oh the public is the worst. Totally entitled. Especially the young crowd. They forget the fact that they are flying in a $300 million state-of-the-art machine at 500mph in the thin upper atmosphere where it’s -50 and impossible to breath, made safe for them using advanced technology and stringent tr...

Re: The Return to Normal?
Maybe consider this.. The planet is the patient, humans are the virus and coronavirus is the vaccine. The federal deficit is estimated now at $186 Billion up from $28 Billion. Provincial and territorial deficits are estimated at $63 Billion combined. Municipalities are running serious deficits. Thi...

Re: The Return to Normal?
I think people saying it’s going to be a quick recovery are ignoring all the CEO’s, economists, and scientists saying it’s going to be a U-shaped recovery. Which means slow. Has anyone reputable expressed any optimism for a V-shaped economic recovery? If anyone has please let us know. Given the tran...

Re: The Return to Normal?
So we’ve established only people over 60 are vulnerable enough to care about. So let’s just isolate them until there’s a vaccine and the rest of us can go about our business. That’s only a year or two of not being to visit our parents or grandparents. No big deal, right? Gawd...focus will you? Ther...

If not from the media, where do you suppose we get our news? Trump, Rupert Murdoch, or not at all? The big business people and the mafia both love silence. People shit on the media but a lot of it is standard, legitimate reporting, this person said this, this expert said that, here are quotes, stat...

Re: The Return to Normal?
What I have been noticing as of late, people are itching to bust loose. Things are starting to look up and there will be further easing of the restrictions in the month of May and into a June. How that translates for the airline business going forward tis anybody’s guess but for now there is a dim ...

Why aren’t there lines of refrigerated trucks for cancer and flu deaths but there are for COVID?? Why aren’t there lines of refrigerated trucks for cancer and flu deaths but there are for COVID?? Re: Coronavirus Numbers
Hey RippleRock, Mr. Saviour of the Economy, if we go with minimal restrictions to try to save the economy, what would you propose we do with inevitable overflowing hospitals? Do we send people home to die? Do you think people will be on board with this? What about all the healthcare workers? @#$! th...

Re: Coronavirus Numbers
All this tiresome talk about media fear-mongering, yet it’s the government doctors calling the shots or at least making recommendations to the feds. Are some people implying that the doctors decisions are being influenced by the media? It’s such a dumb argument. Most people aren’t really that scared...
