Re: Instructing at WWFC and BFC

The WWFC website says they are currently hiring. http://www.wwfc.ca/welcome-to-waterloo-wellington-flight-centre/about-us/careers/ I've never seen them advertise for instructors at least not myself , they must be short or just stacking up. I wonder if they hire class 4s? I guess it doesn't hurt to ...

Re: Instructing at WWFC and BFC

Hey, Just wondering if anyone has any info on which school would be better to instruct at? Busy, good group etc. Whatever you can tell me. Will be contacting them myself to get some info too. Just doing as much homework that I can. And keep it to the topic or any decent places in SW Ontario to inst...

Cameron Air CYTZ cessna 206

I'm trying to remember if they advertised for the 206 drivers with 250 hours of float time or was it 500 hours.

If anyone remembers the ad on avcanada.

I wonder what requirements are needed today for a 206 float driver with the depletion of float pilots.

Thanks

Re: Wow, requirements really going down...

Maybe this would be a good time for me to come out of retirement and start doing 50 hour float plane courses . With my Cub. Is the 50 hour float plane course worth it to do to spruce up the log book or do you think next year 2018 it will be harder to find float pilots for positions across...

Re: Floatplane training - Vancouver Area - 50hrs courses - Schools?

I got my seaplane job with 25 hours; didn't work the dock at all. I split my seaplane lessons between VFC and OceanAir in Victoria. I DID work a ramp part time for a couple years at the Edmonton Flying Club. You probably won't find any jobs out west with 50 hours... Those are demanding jobs. I'm fl...

Re: Niagara to Toronto in 15 minutes

I agree .. no-one should wait for ground transportation when there's a big deal about the "15 minutes". Maybe that is an issue at other airports too, the ones that are attempting to cater to an airline for the first time. Olde town of Niagara (NOTL Town Center), the Falls, and the center of St Cath...

Re: Training Department backed up

I know starting a new job has a lot of unknowns. One of the biggest for me was spending time away from family during training. This is to give anyone starting at Jazz a realistic time frame of when you can expect to be done training and return to your base. From the time you finish groundshool (CRM...

Re: Toronto to Niagara in 15 minutes

any updates on their Niagara run and in general speaking? Do they still have the two daily roundtrips to YSN and back and how is it doing? It's doing great for Niagarans. Another couple of flights were added today / May 1st 2017. Now we also have an 11am flight to Cytz and return at 1pm to Niagara ...

Re: Private owners and their hiring practices?

I know several owners who hire pilots. Sometimes because they don't fly themselves or not up to date. Usually PC-12 to king air range. In the states there are hundreds of pilots available and current on multiple planes. They charge about 1000.00$ a day plus expenses. Daily rate also applies to stan...

Private owners and their hiring practices?

Curious to hear from private owners that operate twin cessna or pilatus pc12 or other light aircraft, do they hire pilots to fly in the right seat for extra measure.and safety.

Curious and thank you

Re: Class 4 instructor hourly rate

If I was instructing, I'd go to the GM -- not the CFI, but someone with authority -- and say look. I will network like crazy, in any way I could, and bring in new business. But for every student I bring in who starts training, I want to be given 2 or 3 walk ins. It's fine and dandy to demand studen...

There is a need for instructors in the industry now, if your present employer will or can not give you more flying find another employer. The problem is you need to get to a class three and then you can free lance. I made myself available as much as I can but it's not seven days a week as I have a ...

Re: Instructor bashers your wish has come true

Happy days the production of those pesky incompetent troublemaker Class 4's seems to be at an all time low. With the continuous huge hiring at all the regional airlines using a stint of instructing as the start to a flying career is rapidly becoming optional as new CPL's are now going straight to t...
