Re: Jazz Reqiurements?

Hang in there Jane, work hard, get that multi time (and multi PIC) build up and before you know, you'll be at Jazz. I flew many years in the North before getting a job with Jazz. It hasn't been this good (in aviation) for a long time. We should enjoy it, instead of always longing for that next step....

Re: Jazz Reqiurements?

Hi everyone, I have about 1400hrs with 460hrs of multi time (Prop driven) and currently working towards my AAs. I only have a valid IATRA as of now and no degree/diploma. No commercial experience either. What are the chances of Jazz considering someone these days with my kind of experience?? Any in...

Last class had 2 RJs I believe and about 5 or 6 Q400s, the rest being "Classic". They were all YUL based. Some people pick the plane, some pick the base.

Re: New hire bids

All YUL. 2 CRJ, 4-6ish Q4 (can't remember) and the rest classic. Thank you for that Black_Tusk. I'm curious what the next course will have. It seems that the last 3 - 4 ground school courses had a lot of YUL spots. Is that not a popular base? Montreal is an awesome city to live in. I guess it's a b...

Re: New hire bids

From what my friends are telling me, it's 10 days PAID vacation when you're hired. I'm sure you can block time OFF before and after that so you can extend that holiday (if you wish) (or maybe even bank credits?) though, not 100% sure about that.

Re: Sunwing and Foreign pilots again

As a Canadian pilot that busted his ass for more than 7 years flying in the Arctic, I find that the practice of hiring temporary foreign pilots INSULTING. So, I may not have a 737 Type Rating, but that's hardly a "disqualifying" factor, considering I've been flying left seat, turboprops for a while....

So as of now, I understand there will be a G/S course on Jan 2 and there may be one mid Jan. Have the spots been filled for those courses?

Thanks,

Re: Jazz Experience

Has anyone actually been hired or even received a call for an interview with an iatra? Assuming you meet the multi and two crew experience requirements. Yes! Having your AAs (AAs written) is important, but not a disqualifying factor. If you have experience they will take you. I know some people tha...

Rest in peace fellow aviator. We should all step back and remember that while we all may love our job, family and what we do in our personal life is the most important thing. My condolences to his family.

Re: New hire bids

That's pretty cool. It seems to be that positions being offered are very diverse from class to class. In the end, we all agreed when we applied to Jazz that regardless of what base or plane we get, even if we're the last pick, we'd be okay with it. I certainly will be. Sure, we all have our preferen...

Re: Jet/Turboprop 2nd IC hours VS Cessna PIC hours for staring pilot

If you want to go the airline route:
- Fastest way to a turboprop / jet and 1500 hrs on it
- Write your AAs
- Fastest way to get the 150 hrs PIC (100 can be PICUS once you're in at a regional) so you can ge those 250 hrs for the AAs
- Get that seniority number in
- ENJOY LIFE - STOP CHASING METAL

Re: Winter Bid released today.

Experience cannot be taught even in a sim check. Many moons ago, wise aviation companies used extensive line indoc and line checks to weed out those who managed to pass the standard ride yet failed miserably during line indoc where thought process is really examined and exposed. I think that's a gr...

That's great. I'm curious what spots they will offer on the next few ground-schools. Speaking of which, I heard there might be one on the 12 and one in January? This is exciting news.

Re: E-Mail from Jazz to complete application

Training is 100% in toronto. They pay for the hotel, your full salary with per diems and they will fly you anywhere in Canada on confirmed tickets when you have 3 days or more off. Once you are done training you'll complete line indoc. Depending on your class seniority that will range from 2 weeks ...

Re: CRJ VS Q and Classic

The Q does a lot of the heavy lifting and central flying. It is fairly junior in the system thus far. Regina, Saskatoon, yellowknife, edmonton, mcmurray. Once in YVR it'll keep doing Portland, Seattle, Kelowna and vancouver island bounces when the loads warrant. I think we will only see an increase...

Re: Hour building for an European pilot—where?

Overall, regardless where you go in Canada, you'll end up paying roughly the same amount to rent airplanes. Here are a few things to consider. Because I moved a lot with my previous job, before becoming a professional pilot, I did my flight training in 4 different provinces. Ontario, Manitoba, Alber...

Online Assessment Request - Jazz

Good morning I understood from a friend of mine that Jazz has sent her an Online Assessment Request. Apparently it has to be completed before the interview. Does anyone know what that is? My friends that are currently employed by Jazz have no clue and they never had to go through that. Is this a new...

E-Mail from Jazz to complete application

Good day, I'm fairly new on this site, though I have been browsing the job adds now and then. A few months ago I started my application for Jazz, but I haven't actually finished it. Lately I've received automated messages from Jazz "Recruitment" asking me to finish the application. I believe this to...
