Re: Building overseas

Thanks for the reply. I actually got in touch with someone from the MD-RA. It sounds like it's actually pretty feasible to build something like an RV overseas. You wouldn't even need to fly a MD-RA inspector over as long as you left a certain amount of inspection panels open on your return. A compos...

Building overseas

Hey guys,

Just out of curiosity, has anyone partially built an experimental aircraft outside of Canada? I sometimes think about doing some contract work overseas and would like to continue building (composite)?

Take care

Anyone know if the Bluetooth still works with the QC35 Harmony/Avee setup? I need to be able to watch Netflix at 360. Priorities people!

Re: 737 Max 8 Simulators

The big difference between Aeroperu and the MAX situation is that there was no UAS drill prior to Aeroperu but there is one for the MAX. A UAS drill was one of the lessons learned from Aeroperu. You brought up a very interesting point. It took 70 years of commercial flying before Boeing decided tha...

Just like Onyx did with Hawker Beechcraft eh. Sure expanded that operation.
Ouch! Forgot about that. This company killed off over 40 years of jet production with a stroke of a pen.

The disturbing part is that some of you are defending these low wages in Canada.

Re: Career First Officer at AC by design?

What's with the gloating? Isn't the 777 FO position known as the 'trouble maker' position? Guys who failed their upgrade, too scared to do it, or just don't fit in anywhere else in the company?

Re: Possibly returning to Canada

WestJet, AC are hiring. Transat and SWG as well. Possibly quick upgrades at all 3 (besides WestJet). You could probably get a DEC gig at Flair and work your ass off for low pay. There's been a few Challenger ads lately. Most probably pay at least $130K or more. TC is hiring POI's. 100K + to start, p...

Re: Why does everyone want to work at Air Canada?

Sunwing is a place where after a few years, you could make/work as much or as little as you want. They're pilot's junior to me, that make way more then I do. Also when you deploy it's tax free cash, that's why they're so popular. I'm not knocking AC or WJ. I don't really know much about Transat. If ...

Re: Twin Otter trivia: Hours held by the highest time pilots?

If I remember correctly, Bob told me he stopped counting at around 30,000...one night over a beer at Jetz. I think he had something like close to 10,000 hrs on the ICE alone, at the time of his passing. Bob was one of a kind. Really missed. He helped start a lot of young pilot's careers.

Cozy Mk IV

Hey guys,

Anyone have any expierence building or flying a Cozy? I think there’s one or two builders kicking around Southern Ontario. It’s been on my radar for years but I’ve never met anyone who’s flown or built one.

I get it that not everyone wants to leave the Canadian paradise to live in some hellhole like, um, Spain where the food, wine, women, and weather are so, um, inferior to Canada. But it's a bit painful to witness open hostility when it's apparently based on nothing more than ignorance of t...

To Jack and Complex,

Do you think they will ever open up a Canadian base like they have in the US, and hire on the 737/787?

Might be wishful thinking but stranger things have happened........

Nothing against the other posters here, but he'll definitely give you the non bias pro's/con's. I'd suggest yo...
