Re: SWOOP OTS Captains punted from left seat...

Says the pilots that pick up trash. You, my misinformed friend are doing the real damage. You and your organized labor communist gang that rewards time served instead of talent. Any removal of meritocracy from our lives only rewards laziness. Have you ever wondered why Canadian aviation pays the wo...

Re: SWOOP OTS Captains punted from left seat...

I think most of us can agree that today is a good day for Canadian Aviation and a victory for organized labour. Hopefully most of the 26 will go back to the rocks that they crawled out from under and reflect on the damage they nearly inflicted on the rest of the industry. Congrats ALPA. Keep up the...

Re: SWOOP OTS Captains punted from left seat...

With this decision made, I see that Kaplan, in his ruling, refers to a creature known as the Westjet PIlot Seniority List . There is no such creature available in the last negotiated WJPA pilot agreement, nor have I been able to find such a creature available on any WJ internal resource. I'd like t...

If you work for a company that has a lot of OT, go do that and get your hours up. Then you can get on the Captain payscale quicker, and maybe move up in the world to a company that pays better.

The fact is Tom Uddenberg asked me to provide a copy of work permit or visa. As a born Canadian I do not have or need either of them to gain employment. Please tell me how you or others would get me hired if I don't have those? Only foreigners would have those documents. So why not provide him a co...

AirCanuck: not to worry. I wouldn't even mention the civilian log book. You show up with a valid ATPL and your military logbook and nobody is going to worry about the civilian time... (And I sympathize about your record keeping complaint: I was never noted for my penmanship...) Problem is, I'm PIC ...

any thoughts on tying a porta bote on a C172. These are small folding boats that fold up to about the size of a 10' surfboard i realize that there is not likely an STC for this. Just wondering if the extra windage would actually cause a problem. asking for a friend..... Take a picture of it folded ...

A friend at sky regional is my professional mentor. What were his words of wisdom? keep applying, determination will lead me to airline position. That’s your first problem. What’s going to save your butt? 900hr flight instructor with super hands and feet? Or 900 Navajo captain who isn’t very coordinated, but experienced with storms, icing, wind shear, and crosswinds? I’d pick a ho instructor. I’ve trained some ho guys that shiver when they see some ice on the boots. I...

In case you haven't noticed, there is no more "sitting back". There is no "relaxing". Everyone is sitting upright, tightly packed, and stuck listening to bab...

Soooo, not to be nit picky, but I do believe that the B1900 - C is a two crew machine and -D is certified single pilot, with specific company certification for two crew ifr ops from transport. That used to be the case, but it changed probably five years ago. You can check the list yourself. I guess...
