Re: Is the Class C Control Zone at Langley Airport Dysfunctional?

From my experience seems terminal is dumping their traffic problems onto towers.

Last time I was there, terminal only said, "no contact, remain clear". No VFR service.

I've heard it's long been that way.

Perhaps it's teminal that needs to be fixed.

Re: Flying to YUL

What will be your routing from YQT? Just curious as there is a healthy chunk of space you'll be below both radar and radio contact on your way down. Suggest a spot device or at least tell a responsible person your route to back up your filed flight plan. Yes, I have a SPOT Messenger that I will use...

Thanks everyone for the reassuring information. I will be going from Thunder Bay. It will also be the Cross Country for my CPL application, should I ever get to finish that up....(COVID)....;-) The other trips I have done in the past were done outside of my official CPL training and there are diffe...

Have you seen what many airplane seats and tray tables look like, including your carrier?
Are you seriously asking an airline pilot that?

It's bad when average people are stupid. But they're sheeple people. It's expected to some degree. I have much, much higher expectations of our leadership not to be stupid, and to be truthful, and to show leadership. No one made you run for office, either. Once accepting a big chair...act like it.

I know the airlines are hurting, maybe it's time to reset to a higher level of customer service. Airlines are hurting from their own choices, and should suffer the consequences. A follow-up question: what is the magic number at which a sum of money becomes "obscene" or "filthy"? I guess it's somewhere between 2,000 and 17,000,000? Or is it as I suspect, "any amount more than I get"? And if you think 17 mil is bad, I guess it's not great that the national debt is on track t...

You have a point, but how are you going to stop the people behind you getting closer than 6 feet? Glare at them? Smile? Cough? Flash your College of Professional Pilots badge? I would guess if everyone on a jetway left 6 feet between them on boarding, wouldn't be long for a nasty comment from the g...

Let's say everyone adhered to social distancing lining up to board, in the jetway and the plane while boarding. How well would that work logistically in a busy airport? But a good time to talk about carb ice in general, The carb heat will have the most effect heating and deicing the carb if, after applying it, you lean the engine more, to make the exhaust hotter, and reduce power as much as practical, to reduce the total volume of air flowing into the carb. Thank you Gannet for the detailed posts.

Learning a few things. What a terrible time in the flight profile to lose one's engine, not many good options.

From my know - nothing perspective, its seems shocking how fast energy bleeds off after the zoom climb, into the stall.
