Cool Video on 747-8 RTO testing.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_g6UswiRCF0

For this test the engineers
- used worn out brakes
-maximum takeoff weight.
-maximum thrust
-- reject at 160 knots.
--no thrust reverser allowed.

Pretty good glowing on the brakes.....

Re: Be wary of the accuracy of the logbook

From my limited experience, this problem usually comes about because of good intentions gone awry. We all know with what the road to hell is paved. I'll give an example of how good intentions can make this problem worse. Say you rent a 172 at a flying club for a few hours, just to maintain currency...

New, old, every, pilot, would benefit by focusing on understanding their aircraft's Angle of attack in different phases of flight, and how this might be affected by their inputs in different parts of the circuit, with different wind conditions. Re: Is being a Commercial Pilot in Canada worth it?

A dream career, in my view, is to discover what in life you love so much, you'd happily do it for free, and find a way to get paid for it. It's a very personal decision, what that looks like, if the sacrifice to really do what you want is worth it, along with compensation and lifestyle factors. Not ...

I think it should be, and will be. EV's are very rapidly becoming cost effective with ICE, they can pay their share.

Go to Steinbach, MN. Better weather, lower costs. In my defense, the above was the sum total of the reply when I posted that snarky comment. It has since been edited and I now look more like an asshat than I intended to. I still don't find it very useful - it's much like someone asking for specific...

This is a difficult environment in which to forecast flying jobs, however, certain realities remain true: If you want a job flying a plane: Be around the planes as much as you can (so any job at the airport), Be seen to be a hard working team player, and be prepared for the next opportunity. Go to Steinbach, MN. Better weather, lower costs. Well that was a useless reply. No that was the most useful reply here. If you are coming from overseas to train then Harv's air in Steinbach MB is a much better option than anything near Toronto. More time in the practice area, less traffic, cheaper...
