Re: Carbon tax announced December 2020

I think climate change has the potential to be exponentially worse than covid. If we trust the experts with covid and follow all the guidelines, I don't see why anyone would question the experts when it comes to climate change. Trusting experts in things we don't have an education in is the forefron...

Re: Carbon tax announced December 2020

Ah I see so I your comments are not about EV specifically but just in general for all cars. So how is this an argument against EV? For every car that goes to the wrecking yard a new car hits the road, whether it be EV or ICE. Lots of studies have shown the full life of vehicles from manufacturing, t...

Re: Carbon tax announced December 2020

Altiplano and inverted2 you are missing a very simple concept. If I own a car for 3 years whether it's EV or ICE, if it still has life in it I can sell it to someone else to use it. I don't need to own a car 19 years for a car to last 19 years being passed around different owners. Not everyone wants...

Re: Carbon tax announced December 2020

Same thing with electric cars. People think they’re saving the world but they are worse for the environment than keeping your old car. 1. Keeping an old car longer involves less manufacturing pollution. 2. Batteries for electric cars contain exotic materials that are mined in areas where they cause...

Re: Carbon tax announced December 2020

Oh I fully understand. I was taking the “trust the science approach” where you giver zero fucks about anything except for the specific issue at hand. Does the carbon tax reduce consumption of energy... yes. Problem solved. And like JT said if we can trust him with our health and covid policies, then...

Re: Carbon tax announced December 2020

You haven't figured in how much the price of your flying lessons is going to increase, to cover the rise in fuel prices. That's going to blow away your $350 per year, and then some. True - but I chose to pursue a rather carbon intensive path. I get that. My numbers are from 2019, this year's will b...

You are a hot steaming mass of contradiction Montado. Your contribution here is nothing but incessant bitching about how they are wrong about everything, and you are right. I suspect you’re the same on the job. Go ahead with what comments I have made that are a contradiction. Have I been a hypocrit...

Re: Flight Attendants - Diapers Chai-nah

So covid is spreading in people’s homes, the only place masks and diapers won’t be mandated. I'm surprised I have to explain this to someone smart enough to get a pilot licence, but in order to spread *in* your home, it has to *enter* your home from outside, which it's less likely to do, if you all...

Re: Carbon tax announced December 2020

Well the carbon tax doesn’t have to cost anyone anything. Basically everyone puts money into the pool with the carbon tax and then they divide that money evenly and redistribute it back to the tax payers. So if you use more carbon you pay more taxes however you get the same credit back as the other ...

Re: Flight Attendants - Diapers Chai-nah

I’m pretty certain this policy is about as effective as masks. If you are going to get covid in public it will be in a public washroom where you are touching everything and not distancing from people. If you are walking through aisles at a store and keeping distance, with or without a mask you are v...

Mhmm and in your previous post you said this was a scam.

So now it’s a MLM thing where if you can trick someone dumber than you to invest, you might actually turn a small profit on your mistake?

I want the vaccine for everyone else, not for myself.

Could you imagine the consequences of screwing this vaccine up? It could make a whole lot of people join the anti vaccine crowd.

Hmmm well I’m not convinced that porter is going to start up and dominate the east coast... how many porter employees are sitting at home in their uniform ready to go tomorrow if they get the call? I’d bet half of them have moved on to other jobs, who sits around waiting? So if you think porter is g...
