Re: The Call Back

Who isn't? But a bit of perspective please: it is TEMPORARY. Eventually, people may not have the lifestyle they had before, but Schitt's Creek isn't so bad, once you get used to it.

But you have it in a GIC or something, so it earns interest. Then you spend that - eventually. This way you stay the same person.

Re: The Call Back

It is, on the other hand, going to make for a faster ramp up of service once things get going. HR will have less to do, and there are probably security things to consider, I don't know, but a lot of details go into a hiring or re-hiring, that won't need to be done if they stay on the payroll. I am n...

Re: Applying for new jobs

That is a good question. I tried to contact a couple of places I had applied, but no answers. They are probably on skeleton staff and have 8 million cv's to reject.

Re: Make a wish

It sure is! To speak somewhat cynically for a moment, a company that does that sort of thing gets well deserved positive publicity, so a win/win. And it cost a lot less than an ad campaign. Good for them!

Well said.

Is the glass half empty or half full? The only real thing we can change right now is our attitude.

Aviation is not dead. It is "resting".

Re: Wil Jazz hire with instructing time only?

You probably have not noticed yet, but you may discover that the world of aviation in Canada is extremely competitive, and in fact, very very small. Things will come and bite you, and you will wonder how you never got a job flying that nifty, shiny C172. That advice is free, considering these times ...

Re: Corona Virus

I would urge those who think they know more than the thousands of scientists who study this for a living, to inform themselves on the scientific method (I think Francis Bacon was the first to propose it officially (thank you internet)). People used to think things were only "an act of God", and to a...

Re: Corona Virus

You are a fool. Believe what you will, but trying to influence attitudes with misinformation and twisted fantasies is dangerous. You are not contributing to a discussion, you are a troll. I will tell you what happens in a care facility lock down: nobody but the workers can go into the building. Who ...

Re: Bush Jobs - Northern Ontario

Basically, you go wherever the jobs are. YMMV but you will find that balancing structured southern city life with Bush flying is not the norm, Instructing excepted. People who succeed in this business do not sit on the fence and work just as hard getting work, as they do actually working. They go fo...

Re: Corona Virus

Mr Pelmet, Please stop being dangerous. There is no discussion. As some have already said, do what actual experts are suggesting, and face reality. You are proposing anarchy, and a situation that has been studied through modelling, and shown to be pure folly. I implore you to keep your thoughts to y...

Re: Bush Jobs - Northern Ontario

You only want ONE job. It may not come right away. Don't let the economy or anything else stop you. Once upon a time, well meaning, nice people told me not to quit my day job. I didn't listen, and it was hard - took two years to get flying as a job - but you gotta do what you gotta do!

Re: Coronavirus Numbers

Let's put it this way: do you believe the work done by scientists in the design and build of your airplanes is adequate to ensure your and your passengers' safety? I have put my faith in them. It is no different here: shutting down is the LESSER of the evils we are faced, according to people who kno...

Re: Coronavirus Numbers

There will always be people willing to kill others in order to survive themselves. Just as long as nobody comes for them, everything is just fine. I am not comfortable unnecessarily murdering millions, just because I am afraid of the unknown. By not isolating, and ignoring the threat of infection, w...

Re: Im at a fork in the road

It is so much easier telling everyone else what to do, than it is to get out there and do things for yourself, but since we are all kind of stuck right now anyways... Your first flying jobs are going to be seasonal. You could go to university in the winter. Then, once you have this nice shiny degree...

Re: Were airlines sacrificed for the Nation ?

Retirements and the number of people entering the field in future, is completely different to the 1980's, agreed - competition was, putting it mildly, fierce, but I for one, got work when I needed it, and these layed off airline guys will too - eventually. That said, nobody knows. I see more positiv...

I am not an airline pilot. I wanted to be one. I still do (ha ha ha). But alas, I do know other things, as well as how to fly airplanes. Take this advice: do not sell anything, unless it is way up. Anything you buy is no different than going to the casino and betting on red 7. Basically doing nothin...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

We look after our own here in Quebec. It should be an attitude every other province takes, but that is their problem. I have always had the belief that BC for example, goes out of its way to step on their own, in favour of easy money from people from elsewhere (I am talking about other provinces, no...
