Re: piper arrow down at CYFD

In general, but certainly not in every case, the need to be flying at 2am, in snow showers and or marginal vfr,(or worse?) conditions, coming home from the cottage or wherever , to get to work in the morning diminishes.I certainly hope to be flying at 80... ...

Re: 20th Century power

I think you will find that Lupin is on to it , as are others. the duty cycle of a car , while it may have "280" hp available , when it is tooling along the 401 (or pick your favourite hiway) the average car is using about 25-35 hp continuous, a lycoming say 0360 of nominal 180 hp is using 135 hp and...

Re: shop rates

and would it not be nice if all shops charged a slight less fee for apprentice work, but of course most shops charge say the 95.00 an hour for all "man hours " put on the plane, but of course the shop pays the apprentice about 20.00 of that an hour, but they have a shop to run, an apprentice to trai...

Re: Plane with 2 aboard missing between Chilliwack and Edmonton

Well 10 mins is a long time in an airplane. Sadly they musta flown over the mooney they just found a lot of times. I think maybe spot and? In this current missing case they have virtuallly no last position to work from and spot sure would have narrowed that down. In the case of the mooney, they had ...

if you register, you get flights that dont have a flight plan. If you dont have ADSB almost none of the times you simply use flight following will show up, just flight plan ones.

Re: 2018 CNE Airshow

Well the deck boxes should be lined up on the fence, and secured. It is granted it will e a few steps away from the plane. But at that end not an undoable walk. The deck boxes are are "big, mt and light" most of the time. A dash could blow them too. I am sad about the damage. The heavy military type...

Re: Missing airplane on flight from Penticton to Edmonton

This thread is getting bizzare. Now we have more than one person saying the RCMP have told folks not to look for the plane?! and also someone is saying maybe someone has found it already?! and is not saying?! and someone being threatened for continuing to look for the plane?! This is almost too weir...

Re: Navcanada discontinuing approaches at under-serviced airports

they cannot afford it. they can barely keep the snow off them. Elliott Lake, Atikokan both used to have large, busy mines... that is what drove the dough, both mines are shutdown, so money and traffic are a lot slower to come to the airport. There was actually a provincially owned i think air servic...
