Re: Some U.S. regional airlines are now sponsoring Canadians for the H1B Vis

Oh you poor little baby, dude man up and take charge of your own life and quit being a friggin doormat, this is how the Canadian aviation industry got so screwed up. I mean between this line of thinking, to all the people on this AVIATION forum who go out of their way to argue that pilots aren't ev...

Re: Some U.S. regional airlines are now sponsoring Canadians for the H1B Vis

Wrong part of the analogy. When your parents are abusive crackheads and take most of your paper route money away, do you stick around or go over to your friends house where his folks don't beat you and give you a large allowance? I think you may have missed the point of going to the US - the US "ch...

They might not, but the requirements for a H-1B apply The requirements to qualify for an H1B visa are: You must have ONE of the following 1) A Bachelor's degree or Masters Degree (or the foreign equivalent degree from your Country), OR 2) 12 years work experience , OR 3) A mix of further education ...

We've been grounded since Thursday in Moncton. I guess all the fuel comes from that one refinery in Alberta.

You guys can't tanker in fuel from elsewhere?

Re: Some U.S. regional airlines are now sponsoring Canadians for the H1B Vis

Even a piece of trash ULCC like Spirit Airlines pays their 12-year captains more than AC does for NB flying. The worst deal in the U.S. is still better than the best deal in Canada. What does it matter what the Americans think? Well with it being THEIR COUNTRY and all, their opinion is probably som...

Re: Some U.S. regional airlines are now sponsoring Canadians for the H1B Vis

Canadians, taking the flying jobs Americans won't stoop low enough to take. 1st-year pay at AWI is USD 76,000 or CAD 95,000. So you can make more than a fourth year AC FO as a first year AWI FO. You'll also pay less taxes and live in a country with a lower cost of living. If anyone is stoopi...

Think we're talking different things, I was addressing VFR fight following, not a IFR clearance or a briefing.

Re: Crash video. Performance over 50 foot Obstacle not Calculated

I get it, it's a pretty good idea for some areas, could see that idea being good in baja, some places in FL or CA, but the big issue for me would be it seems way underpowered, and it's like 120,000USD. With another 50hp and a 15-maybe 20k price tag, sure, that'd beat a quad in some settings for sure.

Re: Avgas

Who's bright idea was it to rely nearly entirely on one supplier?? I expect because it is such a low volume product Industry decided to consolidate all production in one place to make it economically viable. FWIW I was told the petroleum industry doesn’t even call call Avgas “gasoline” it is is ref...

Re: Flight Following (radar surveillance for VFR)

That is a huge reason to use FF in the US. If they screw up and vector you into restricted, its on them, and on tape. Very important. Whenever I flight plan US I specifically ask on my route for a TFR check. If I would happen to bust one that briefing is also on tape, that I asked. Careful with tha...

Re: Twin Otter Beta Use in Flight

In with supplies out empty wasn't that bad.. one way strips so the wind would have to be just right anyone thats flown a pc12 knows that it likes to float so when going around is not an option sometimes beta has to get used. I've heard people say it before, about types that I've flown, but I don't ...

Re: Flight Following (radar surveillance for VFR)

Very, Crunch. I've flown most of North America (although filing IFR in the US mainly) and YVR terminal has to be the most limited service available. Even Florida, NYC and the DC area all offered good service, although extremely busy comm to get the calls in. Suspect they are slightly busier than YV...

Far from a first job lol, but for where a PC-12 can land, it's quite quick and quite large

Re: Twin Otter Beta Use in Flight

That AFM isn't really set all the way up on my phone the pilatus app is great for somethings, but W&Bs ain't one of them, however our plane, which only has two rear seats and a stretcher, is just shy of 6900lbs with zero fuel and zero people. As for fuel burn, below 10k we plan on 500lbs hr at 240kt...

Re: Training bond after the fact with current type?

Your friend would have to be a complete sucker/idiot to sign that. Tell them you're happy to fly for them, but you won't be signing anything. I HIGHLY doubt they are going to fire him, I mean the whole point of the bond is to force him to not leave their company for a better job, paying for his trai...
