Re: YYZ Crew Hotels
Hotwire is better than any crew rate. I got the crown plaza the other day for $60+tax, any hotel I called had crew rates of about $80-85+tax

Re: Fall Equipment Bid
In YYZ most of the D8 pilots are bidding the E75 since the bid only shows 17 Q4 CA spots. Word is a lot of senior RJ pilots are bidding the E75 too. Frozen pilots are …… frozen. Most pilots affected by type freeze are FO. D8 pilots are all free agents due reduction rights. I would expect once bid r...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
There are pros and cons to paying all pilots at a company the same (captains are payed more of course) regardless of which aircraft they fly (status pay). It sounds fair paying everyone the same (everyone is doing a similar job), but I don't think status pay is a good idea because of this: If pilot...

Not quite, it’s 104 recalls compared to 123 active sky regional pilots coming over

Re: Air Canada Revises the Terms of its Capacity Purchase Agreement with Chorus Aviation for Regional Flying
The only reason for the recalls is to make the most junior active Jazz pilot match seniority with the most junior incoming active Sky Regional pilot

I’ve seen pictures of fedexs 777 in yyz bringing the vaccine over. I think ups may be flying some too

Re: Commuting, Acclimatization and new Flight Duty Regs
Commuting is a choice. Those who do it (myself included) choose to live out of base. With the example of someone being acclimatized to yvr and commuting to yyz, how is it any different than someone who chose to spend their days off out of their time zone on vacation and only come back before their n...

Re: Appologies
How would the blame even fall onto the express pilots? AC decides which flights will be operated by express and sends that info out to the express carriers who can then make pairings and figure out crewing requirements from there. Pilots just fly the flights they are scheduled

Re: Self attestation for medical renewal
I had heard that if you require an ECG that you can't use the attestation. I'm 30 this year so I need an ECG, does that mean I'll have to go in for a full medical like usual?

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
Hello everyone. What are your best guesses when jazz will start recalling inactive/layed off pilots. The only reason I am asking is because I have been offered summer employment but I don't want to accept it if jazz is going to recall me in July or Aug. I have been with the company 2.5 years and lo...

Re: YUL Base
Correct. Which is also not what I was saying. I said French is useful in a YUL base because of daily life. It doesn’t have any bearing on being awarded the base; that’s seniority only. I've heard Montreal is way more English compared to a place like Quebec City. So there's that too. But for sure it...

Re: Ground school canceled
Hi everyone! Just looking for advice here. I got the email from Jazz a while ago that I completed the process to be hired and I would be waiting in the pool. I further received another email telling me I was hired and was assigned the April 13th ground school. I gave my 2 weeks to my employer and d...

Is that just pilots? Or are f/a's and others included in that number?GoinVertical wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 8:41 pm 691 WJ/Swoop

How many pilots does Sunwing have?
I only have to think AC/Express will have to closely follow suit.
This is going to be a staggering number of people out of work.

The first has fallen (Sunwing). "Regrettably at this time the Company has announced it is laying off the entire pilot group starting April 8th. Your Union will meet with the Company tomorrow morning to discuss mitigation strategies for the members. While we go through this difficult time we will en...

Re: DEC
I am really curious about this. Why is it that companies don't offer guaranteed seats to their commuters? Would it piss off those who moved to live in their base city? Is it too expensive? I hear that the commuting policy is great at Jazz anyway but wouldn't guaranteeing those commuters seats save ...
