Re: How did Air Canada end up with embarrassing pay?
The company isn’t that bad. They want to change flat pay. The union wants to revisit the contract in its entirety versus address inflationary pressures on the most junior members. Don’t be that naive, company wants something in return to change the flat pat. There is no good will here, if there was...

Re: AC Pay/Progress
We're all equal, just ask a Flight Attendant. Definitely not equal. The Flight Attendant have higher Per Diems than us, even though we stay at the same hotel in the same city. They also make more money than some of our junior pilots. The Flight Attendants are paid like a Top 10 airline, the pilots ...

Re: Accident: Canada B772 near Delhi on May 24th 2022, severe turbulence causes 8 injuries
Few years back AC had an incident going into Mumbai, couldn’t land due to weather, gone to alternate tight on gas and we’re put into a hold. Had to declare an emergency to get priority to land. Not a lot of room for gas on these 15-16 hr flights. Knowing the alternate airport has a closed runway wit...

Re: YVR Base Chair Recall
Have a look at the PBS forced out thread on the ac pilots forum, quite an eye-opener. If these two are not recalled then we can only blame ourselves for the contract we have.

Hey Mike,
Remember your famous line ‘does it really effect us, we’ll be gone in 2 years’
This pretty much sums up his tenure.

Limited course rights has allowed Captain positions to go more junior than expected. 1 NB Captain course right is distributed amongst 4 different types (Rouge 320s have their own list, even with the same pay rates as mainline for the time being)

Re: Changezilla
Those that know how unions work, please enlighten me. It appears that the root cause of our late block release is the low daily min guarantees, blocking 16 days with pairings optimized for 4:25 daily min. We use to have high daily mins when DBMs were high, but this was lost during CCAA. Now in the p...

I’m not sure who is sarcastic here. Maybe both. Or neither. Yikes :? Lol, My read is Lance Rose is sarcastically playing Clark767, the guy who created his user profile today. I noted Lance was playing opposite day early on in the thread. Maybe Clark is one of the committee chairs that lost his posi...

Re: Air Canada Orders 24 a321XLRs
Great move by AC, why purchase a debt laden Transat when a few XLR can replicate its flying for fraction the cost. I see these heavily utilized for the YYZ-YUL rouge 767 flying.
Will all 320 pilots be ETOPs qualified? Or will they play base politics to pass through the next cost-neutral contract.

Record revenue announced today from Cargo ops. Which suckers voted for a 10% pay cut.
Gaining 2% annually on a 10% discounted rate isn’t a gain. But ACPA will sell you as one, and it appears AC pilots are just bad at math.

Re: Flat pay and unions...
I’m not seeing the issue in what he said? Your flighties don’t deliver your coffee? He didn’t say they only make coffee. They certainly shouldn’t be paid more than the FO though. The argument we ought to make should be to pay the FOs more and not to force AC to pay the FAs less. This is why the fat...

Re: What is flat pay?
What is the logic/reasoning behind it? Why would the union vote in favor of it? The logic is it saves the company money. The union argues that you spend the majority of your career at year 12 pay, so that should be their focus. AC is the devil of them all since they pretty much set the standard for...

We had a chance to fix this 4 year pay scale in 2014, however a whopping 84% of the membership were fine with it and locked it in till 2024.

Re: What does Air Canada want to see on a resume
Well to put your conspiracy theories to the test, my PIT course 4 years ago (over 30 in the class) consisted of 2 females, about 5 visible minorities, and 4 francophones. A look through the other new hire groups over the past umpteen years, the majority are white male anglophones. Very true, to say...

Re: What does Air Canada want to see on a resume
been applying for the last 5 years before the pandemic, FO 330/737 at ts, some twin otter pic, not much but anyway never got a call and probably never will. That is odd… given you work for Transat you’re probably a francophone. So you meet pretty much all their requirements. Did you only complete H...

So why does Project Reroute tout a great relationship with the management and ACPA...what is the point of it? Is it to ACPA-wash the furloughs? Why should furloughs even pay attention to that webinar and trust a word that is being said? Non-response, just change the subject because it's all true. I...

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share
Clearly the market favours AC backing out of the deal given the stock price increase yesterday. Why take on more debt, restrictions and uncertainties in these times. I don’t see the Europeans approving the deal without major concessions, Ben Smith is working hard behind the scenes.
